Frank,

Maybe you are to a COUPLE of things:

1). Yes, playing say 10 conference games means the conferences can't fill many of their bowl bids. When Covid subsides, those conferences will WANT their bowl bids in 2021, 2022, etc.

My suggestion: Don't do something stupid just because 2020 is the year from hell. There will be a 2021, 2022, etc. Plan for 12 games in 2021 and a full bowl season as if Covid never happened.

2). P5 conferences, because of $, don't want to play all of those G5 games THIS year. Wasn't Missouri to pay us 1.1M (think I read that). If Mo decided to play the game and had say 10K fans, including students, they would NOT have taken in enough money to pay us.

If I were the Mo AD I'd offer EMU say 250 - 350K to break the deal. EMU could, if they wish, go on the road that date and maybe collect another 250 - 350k from a rich G5 school.

It is a weasel like move from the Power 5 schools to be sure, college sports are to a degree a business but unlike GM if Ford were to go under, the SEC does not benefit if the MAC and other G5 programs fail. In fact it complicates their operations, it is unfortunate that they are acting as they now do.

It is irrelevant, however, I like you Dan, Keith and Sam see ZERO chance for a football season this fall. I just wish all of the inconsequential efforts being expended currently be redirected to a potential spring season.

i also think that once things 'get back to normal' they'll schedule G5 schools right away.
