Also looks like SEC is heading to a conference only schedule.

This bodes well for App keeping the Wake game since we are the only in-state OOC on their schedule.

Does ND count as a conference game?

Yes, they do.

RE: ACC to play 10+1 Schedule
All G5 and FCS schools need to lawyer up.

Look at Clemson. Suddenly the ACC is saying that it’s too dangerous for Clemson to play the Citadel but perfectly okay for Clemson to play South Carolina. The B10 and the PAC 12 played it off, but the ACC got too greedy. Treating P5 and non-P5 non-conference games differently and also throwing Notre Dame a life vest is proof of what the Cartel 5 is really up to. When the budget gets tight, these teams suddenly want to keep the lucrative game but drop the games that they agreed to pay for so they can save money. Player safety is just a convenient excuse to do it, and the onus is on the conference head offices so the schools can just say “Sorry nothing we can do about it.” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Presumably App is down to 9 games now and Troy loses an ACC home game.

Yes, the G5 needs to all agree to demand cancellation fees so we don't get individually black-listed.

P5 flaunting their power. This really make break the division in two. The media will call this the greatest CFB season ever and point to no "cupcake" filler games. They wit all high and mighty and don't realize the financial hardship it creates to cancel those games.

RE: ACC to play 10+1 Schedule
Everyone is losing money this season. Well, losing compared to expected revenue. You’d like the see the P5 throw the G5 conferences a bone with some shared TV revenue or something. But let’s face it, that’s not how the business world works, and that is what FBS football is, it’s a business, plain and simple. Best you can probably hope for is a reschedule of those games in a future year where the schedule allows. That’s how I expect it to end, if we play football at all.

Are you all going to give cancellation fees to the fcs schools when the sunbelt inevitably cancels the season?

Right now LaTech is thinking of suing Ark Pine Bluff or someone for canceling on them. Some FCS conferences have already canceled or postponed the season.

It’s a different scenario when both conferences are playing a conference-only schedule. Highly doubt FCS schools play non-conference games if every FBS conference isn’t.

I think the SEC is going to copy the ACC. Conference plus 1. Keep in mind that the ACC has a large number of instate rivalries with SEC teams.

It does. App State is the only OOC opponent in the state of North Carolina.

Won't be the G5 teams cancelling games. We're not going to save money having no season like the FCS and we actually sell games unlike the P5.

The Chick-fil-A kick off games would be a lot more appealing with a Georgia vs Appalachian State and a Troy vs West Virginia matchup anyways!

Why do I have this bad, terrible feeling that a portion of the G5 is about to shut down their football. Those P5 payday games some may have been relying on are gone... couple that in with less capacity for home games... and now you've got a very bad scenario.

People keep mentioning shutting down football, it’s all the other sports that need to be shut down, football is the money maker. What could happen is schools end up having to drop to FCS or DII because of not having the minimum spots for FBS, but football should be the last sport you would shut down.

If football pays all the bills for the other sports, why is it the one people see being shut down???

Now, having said that, there some MAC schools playing in older stadiums, little attendance and less success. There is only one SBC school I could see in trouble, the other school have recently dropped millions in stadium improvements or construction, I just don’t see those schools dropping. It would be surprising to see schools from any of the other conferences, same reason, even though they could drop, they have spent millions on facilities and stadium improvements, and I just don’t see that being wasted.
