Sugar Land Skeeter Baseball League - Rice Edition
With the absence of minor league baseball, the Sugar Land Skeeters have put together a 4 team league with each team playing 28 games. They have limited fans at the park and some nights have doubleheaders with each game 7 innings. Some players have played in the bigs and some are just starting their pro careers. Trei Cruz and Ford Proctor are playing for the Eastern Reyes del Tigre and Kevin McCanna is playing for the Lightning Sloths.

Last night, those two teams played each other and it was on TV. Jose Cruz, Jr. was coaching first base for the tiger kings. Going into the top of the 9th, the tiger kings were down 3-2 and McCanna came in to pitch. Trei led off with a single and the next two hitters made outs. Ford was next to hit and I believe the count was 2-2 when he hit the next pitch over the right field fence for a 4-3 lead, and eventual win.
