Without knowing the dollar-amounts involved, it’s impossible to say if WaPo and other like-minded organizations have learned any meaningful lessons from this.

Either way, I hope that Sandmann is getting enough $$$ that he’s able to move on. And he’ll need it — there will be a lot of people hating him for the rest of his life.

All of these outlets will either eventually settle or lose in court. Thier reporting was negligent—knowingly wrong—and damaged a MINOR who was NOT a public figure. A video of the entire incident was available on YouTube almost from day one—Yet these outlets knowingly continued the inaccurate representation of this event because they felt it furthered thier anti-Trump narrative. They were not concerned in the least if it damaged Sandman, a minor child. These media outlets have no real defense.

Yea, it would be nice if they put a range out there but I'm sure there are NDAs with these settlements.

Well with the internet, he's going to have a hard time getting into colleges and finding a job. He's kryptonite for the rest of his life. And the media needs to pay for doing that to him.

That's not true. You speak like ALL the colleges and universities are Lib Nests. There are quite a few that don't kowtow to the Leftists, like Liberty for instance and I'm sure Grand Canyon University is another one. Remember that he's got a lot of moola now, and money still talks.

A lot of colleges would not take him. And if he's marginal at a state school and gets an independent review, he wouldn't get in. He doesn't have the same opportunities an anonymous kid would have.

Note that he doesn't say what school he went to. He and the school would likely get harrassed.

I think it would be great if Sandman went to college and law school and emerged as an attorney specializing in media malpractice lawsuits, all done with the $$ he got from those media corporations who slandered him.
