Know your Huskie History: Adam Dach-
Adam Dach was one of the all time greats. For my money, he was the start of NIU as Running Back U. I would enjoy seeing some old clips-- he was so fun to watch.

Here is a really good article about Adam Dach.

He was one of my favorites, he just burrowed through people for extra yardage.

Guy was a stud. He looked like an old school player like an NFL films video.

According to my marketing professor, Dr.Aurand who is still at NIU's college of business, the guy who came up with the idea to put a warm syrup indicator on Hungry Jack bottles was an NIU College of Business grad. My guess is that's who Dogfan is.

Adam was great on and off the field, class act, loved spending time outside of football with him. We had a lot of special guys on the Pettibone teams. Adam came to every practice with strong work ethic, special time in my life and was lucky to be around it all.

I didn't get to see much of Dach, he looks great. However, Mark Kellar and Jerry Latin may have something to say about the start of RB U.

Yep. I knew someone would say that. I don't disagree. I did not see them play, so I don't know. But no doubt they are Huskie greats. But, was there a gap too long to say they were "the start"?

valid discussion.

In my opinion, given that Mark Keller led the nation in rushing with 1,719 yards in 1973 there is no better place to start. Only an 11 game season in those days as well.

Great guy, too. Very humble. Made the varsity football team at Byron as a freshman. That's unheard of... and just unstoppable as senior.
