Lopes looking ready for that "playing with 2 basketballs at the same time" rule change, just in case it ever goes into effect.

If the season every goes off without a hitch, I expect GCU to be vastly improved. GCU returns Frayer, has more size, and more depth at guard. But, it all starts out with better fundamental skills. I think Drew will give your Lope team more coaching stability. His temperament is much more even keeled than Majerle's. Drew will not sweat profusely and turn different shades of red and purple when his Lope team is struggling. He will be calming influence to get the team refocused. Once, the crowds are allowed to return, it will be much more difficult for my Aggies (or any WAC team) to get a win at GCU arena. He will have GCU playing like his old Valpo teams in no time.

Along those lines, GCU will be holding limited-capacity weekly chapels in the arena (about 33% full or 2400 students) this semester with additional remote live viewing options available across campus. If this allows for adequate distancing and the model is successful for chapels, I could easily see the administration moving to do the same for basketball games.

If they restricted it to students-only during the semester and gave season ticket holders priority for filling the limited-capacity seating during holiday breaks, I don't think it would be all that difficult to get 2400 bodies in the building for each home game.

If this Aggie player ever blossoms, watch out!
