RE: FISHING
I’ve been fishin’ Missouri’s Big Piney River and Rounidoux Creek. It’s the first time I’ve ever had real luck fishin’ a river/stream. Gettin’ smallmouth, largemouth, rock bass, bluegill, redear, green sunfish, and black crappie. It’s been great.

I still haven’t figured out how to catch a trout.

My “go to” bait is a yellow beetle spin, usually medium sized. Ocassionaly I’ll use a yellow skirt spinner or a top water rappalla.

I’ve never quite gotten the hang of rubber worm fishin’ the bottom. I’m mostly a top water guy, which limits my abilities based on weather.

I cant help on trout... never done it.

But if you're ever on Pickwick Lake let me know... we will catch smallmouth, large mouth and spots all day. I'll even teach you about using plastic worms on Texas rig and shaky heads...

RE: FISHING
I stand corrected. 04-rock
I was Texas rigging a salted watermelon seed speed craw and a garlic skirted grub last night and pulling in some nice largemouth. They hit hard. I think it was better fishing the bottom because the surface temps are hotter.

RE: FISHING
It was 70* yesterday and I went out on a small lake. Caught 2 very small bass. It was a beautiful evening.

Anybody use any special lures/baits techniques for fall fishing?

Fall is my worst time to fish, they get lethargic around here, or I just dont know what I'm doing.

RE: FISHING
As a Floridian born-&-raised, I am ashamed to say that I have personally never caught a fish. This is not from lack of effort, & I've even been fishing with friends all around me catching fish after fish, & I still couldn't catch a thing, even with them making sure I was doing everything right LOL

RE: FISHING
HOT DOG!!! COGS I caught my first trout Sunday from a creek near my house. It was a nice size rainbow. I was thrilled. I was fishing a medium beetle spin, so figured I hooked a small bass. Then I saw it silvery with spots and though, Oh Wow!

I also got a nice smallmouth and a couple largemouth. It was a beautiful 70* evening in November.

Roubidoux Creek in Missouri is a hidden gem.

Someday maybe I’ll learn to post pictures.

Awesome, sounds like a good place to fly fish.

RE: FISHING
Actually went fishing early last week and got a nice largemouth bass. Took it home for my son to clean. Took him the next evening to the same spot and he caught the biggest largemouth bass he’d ever landed at Ft. Leonard Wood. Took it home, cleaned it, and we had’em both for dinner.

RE: FISHING
Went fishing with my sons this evening and one of them caught a big spotted creek gar on a lure he made himself... just a frayed piece of string... no hook... just frayed string. I was impressed. It was pretty cool!
