Sometimes I wonder if this is a schtick, just to rile the board, but apparently not.
I will tell you what Ive encountered. I live in the suburbs of a modest sized city 4 hrs north of birmingham. Our county has had remarkably low virus rates and until last week I only knew of one person among our circle of acquaintaces that had it. A mid 40s female. Mild case in february but well over a month afterwards to recover.
But virus rates begin to elevate here in June, substantially.
In just the past 2 weeks Ive talked to or heard of acquaintances with 8 cases. One a mid 40s male with no known extra risk factors. Collapsed in the emergency room, seven days on a ventilator, tried to remove him had to go an eight day. Still can barely walk once home. May have permanent damage.
One a family of four with two teenagers, just learned today they had it in june after talking to the dad. Recovered but not yet near normal a month later.
Another, a mid 40s healthy female, in ICU for past 3 days, had to put her on a ventilator today. Not sure she is going to make it.
Two more tonight, one 17 and one 20, brothers. Both seriously ill and may hospitalize tomorrow.
My brother in law is a manager within a major hospital network in north Alabama. They are briefing daily on growing covid patients in all ICUs, and a major issue is these patients having high tendency to code, with many also experiencing signs of major organ damage.
Im a scientist at a major lab. Not a health scientist. We had only 2 cases in our staff of thousands through May. We had over 25 in June.
If one doesn't believe this virus is real, and far from the normal flu, then he or she is simply a moron - or completely brain washed and blinded to reality.
And no one who knows me will ever accuse me of trusting the media or having any interest in psycho-liberal or rabid-conservative agendas. I despise both CNN and Fox, as agenda driven political tools operating to create two different flavors of politicsl fools, neither honest media.
But this covid threat is real, regardless of how it fits your political narrative.
