Will you feel safe attending games at Nippert?
What steps could be done to assure/improve safety going to games?

RE: Will you feel safe attending games at Nippert?
Masks and temperature testing at the gates is probably a must in order to get things going. I would say abiding by social distancing guidelines is also something high on the list, doing that might make it worthless to even have attendees with how small our stadium is though. At the end of the day, I wouldn't be going anyways, but that's just me living 200 miles, and I'd understand if others feel the risk is worth it.

Yes. Everyone in my family is in the no risk demographic so game on if they have fans.

I haven't decided yet. Since I graduated in 2005 I've only missed one home game (in early 2007). It would kill me to have to watch a UC home game on TV. But I'll have to evaluate the circumstances at the time and make the call.

The Ohio Department of health reported that 0 people in Hamilton County were diagnosed with COVID the last two days, I'll feel safe.

Edit: 4 in Hamilton, 4 in Warren and 2 in Butler for today.

For me I don't think it will be worth the hassle. I usually go with my younger son, but don't feel like the standing in lines and the extra waiting that is sure happen. I will sit this season out and watch them at home.

If only a handful are allowed to go, I will let the die-hards have their shot at the tickets.

When the Cats host the AAC chip game this year, I don't care if I have to wear a hazmat suit in Nippert - I will try to get tickets and attend. Shoot, I'll rub down in Vick's Vapor Rub to keep folks at social distancing bay if that's what it takes...

Safe? Sure... but not sure I feel like dealing with all the hassle to be honest.

Presumably, if we have a season, and then if we have fans present (two big ifs at this point) I believe season ticket holders and students will receive seats limited to every 2nd or 3rd row and staggered across those rows, wearing masks.

I'll be there, even under those circumstances.

I'd be there tonight if there were a game. I'd wear a mask as extra precaution and if the seats were crowded I may find a place to stand.

This thing is here and there's no guarantee it's ever going away. People have to decide their own comfort level but I'm going to live my life and do the best I can to protect myself.

Moved to South-Central PA (from Morgantown, WV) this winter... So, traveling to Nippert was going to be a major challenge for me. However, if the season makes it that far, the game at Temple is really doable. AND, bonus time here, the way Temple draws (or fails to draw), there should be PLENTY of space to "social distance" at Lincoln Financial Field.

Great point.

Said it before and I'll say it again.

I was sitting in jam packed high school gyms back in March when the poop was (allegedly) hitting the fan and never caught a thing. I would think the risk would be much less than that at an outside football game.

I'd go.

I know it was intended as a joke but if we could play at PBS it'd be very easy to distance.

Emmert from the NCAA made recent comments that sure sound like fall sports are about to be cancelled alltogether.

Yep. Been saying for a while...football ain’t gonna happen. JMO. It’s mid summer and cases are rising. Just think what it will be like when it’s actually flu season. No thank you. I got a ton of other things to occupy my time.

Brother and I already decided not to go.

I'd feel safe regardless, but I think common sense measures like temp checks and reduced capacity go without saying. Probably should require masks too. Hopefully they'd be able to squeeze in season ticket holders if they allow fans. I'd also try to utilize the club space more.

RE: Will you feel safe attending games at Nippert?
I would in a heart beat. I work around crowds all day and neither me nor my coworkers have come down with Covid. I understand the statistics and it is a very rare occasion to die from Covid. When I do a cost benefit analysis, it is worth the risk. By the numbers, my blood pressure is a bigger risk than Covid, but I am not going to a vegetarian diet. What worries me is the future response to other virus. Is this the new expectation? Every time a new virus kills a certain percentage of the population, we shut down the economy and require people to shelter in place. Even the healthy must always wear masks in public, because there is a chance the person is asymptomatic.

RE: Will you feel safe attending games at Nippert?
First time in 20 years I won't be getting some type of tickets. My season ticket group has two adults that are roughly 70 years so we will likely sit this out and instead of taking the health or financial risk. I did buy a bunch of gear this week from the bookstore's online sale which is still a great way to support UC. Not super confident that a real season is played but I do look forward to watching on TV, ESPN+, or whatever is needed to watch the Cats.

I am not sure if sitting out a season from a ticket standpoint is a bad thing. I won't miss the 6 to 7 hour game days or the leaving work earlier to make weeknight football and basketball games. I have always been super hardcore and try to keep my schedule open for Bearcat games but with the kids its harder to make every home game.
