That's cute.

We're about three weeks from them announcing that there won't be a football season this fall.

Well that actually makes sense.

Sounds expensive though...Especially for football.

They will need quick turnaround results. But if one of those linemen tests positive...do they contact trace to his team buddies...he landed in piles with and the ones he tackled...

That's a lot of mucous to contact trace.

Yeah, even if they were living in a bubble, one player could quarantine the whole team easily.

So many things just don't add up when we make plans to play Football this year.

I think that bothers me more than the things themselves.

Honestly the same thing applies to teachers in elementary/high school. Any teacher that tests positive has to be quarantined for 14 days, along with any students in any of her classes. Any student that tests positive would trigger quarantines for any classes they've been in.

There is now talk by pundits (out loud) that even the NFL will not play this year because of the recent surge. shrug.

I guess people are waiting to see how the Orlando bubble works. Zion already left the bubble.

I think it takes a few days before you are capable of spreading it...

So that my be why the 72 hours. So even if they were in contact with a positive case if they were not positive 72 Hours ago they shouldn't be a spreader...But I aint Fauci.

RE: AAC to require COVID testing 72 hours before games
As I posted in another thread... The youngest death in Shelby County due to COVID-19 was 27. Average age of death is actually 74. That means out of all the deaths in Shelby County, NO ONE under the age of 26 has died.

Edit: Uh oh... Shelby County updated their results today. We have had ONE death (18 - 24 range) under the age of 27, out of the 233 people that have died.

- 76% of those that died had underlying cardiac conditions
- 38.8% had diabetes
- 20.5% had an underlying respiratory condition
- 15.2% were obese

Currently a 2% mortality rate, as reported by Shelby County. That's total deaths divided by total recoveries.

Yes, but it can kill their parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, blue-haired fans, etc. As long as they don't have any of those then it's fine.

I don’t think that is the main point. I hope we have sports in all capacity but it’s getting iffy. More than likely, they will all be fine but they can spread it to older folks and there is no cure. That’s going to be the issue.

With that said, we might have our best football team in history and I’d love to see them play. It is what it is.

RE: AAC to require COVID testing 72 hours before games
So 1 person under 26 has died in Shelby County due to COVID-19. During the same time period, 85 people in Memphis were murdered (60% of them under the age of 24). So, if you're under the age of 24 in Memphis/Shelby County, you are 51 times more likely to die by being murdered vs COVID-19.

We are in for a tough rest of the year...unless some miracles reverse the trend..

All fan frustration fits and rebuts are duly noted.

Here's the whole US, for comparison. It has projected with easing, expected, and perfect mask use.

What you or I, or anyone thinks, believes and interprets is absolutely meaningless in the decision making progress.

Stats are just one element in the decision to put or not to put a ton of people in close contact. Railing against reality lowers the vitality. lol

I was talking to aard lol; somehow, my reply nabbed you too.
