If Trump gets another opportunity to fill a seat, you absolutely do it. Damn the political consequences.

IMO, not this late in the game...

Why not? Look at Goya. Look at the Primaries. The more unhinged the left becomes the farther right middle America leans. A really ugly episode by the Dems over a SCOTUS nomination will only remind people of what happened to Kavanaugh and just how far the left went to lie about the man.

It shifts the focus off of COVID and back onto the lying, ends justify any means, extremists running the Democratic party.

I say go for it! If they drag it out it only hurts them!

again, fair point.......however, as much as I despise politics s....

1. would easily be a horrible precedent to ram thru this close to the election...

2. it would demonstrate DJT has 'resolve' vs. 'da finga' he gives those dippos afterwards...

regardless, bi!tch ain't got much longer...

I hear you, but there's not guarantee that will move the needle at all. People who hate Trump aren't going to come back and say "well he showed great patience in not nominating a SCOTUS justice."

The Senate is likely lost regardless of if Trump wins or not. Don't give the far left 2-3 seats to fill.

I think it would backfire as it would galvanize the left around a single, uncomplicated issue; remove Trump before he can nominate another conservative justice.

Turning off some independents and energizing the democratic base (if there even is one).

You are dead wrong on this one. The more air time the left gets being unhinged the worse it is for them. What it gets the focus off of is a problem that Trump can do little about, without some dipshit leftwing Doctor declaring otherwise for political reasons. Put the damn loons on display and it's a cakewalk. The damn virus is all they have, and all they've ever had. A SCOTUS nomination reminds everyone of what they did to Kavanaugh and by implication what they are trying to do to Trump. People have had a belly full of that crap. And Trumps campaign ads don't have to say a word. Show clips of the Kavanaugh Hearing, Russian Collusion House Sheise Show, and of ANTIFA/BLM complete with DEM mayor endorsements and show a Screen Pic of the Dow Ticker and then the Face of Biden with a question mark. Even the illiterate will get it.

I'm in the camp to wait on the nomination if she croaks. No need for the left to have anything to coalesce around - especially something that might attract some of the more normal ones in their party.

Right now the public's attention has been directed to COVID 19. The coverage and distortions about this are hurting the Republicans.

Coverage of anything else favors the Republicans. The left is saving Trump's niece for a last ditch dirty political play. SCOTUS Trumps it all!

So where do you want to be on Election Week? Covering COvID 19 and listening to interviews of Trump's Niece on CNN, or Watching the lunatic left assault another innocent judge?

The MSM is going to beat every COVID story to death between now and November and twist every statistic and the corporate backers will end the NBA and MLB and leftists college professors will start the Football Season and end it by October all to keep COVID in the news until November. A SCOTUS nomination will rally the left and it will put the spotlight on them while they attack another innocent guy or gal. COVID will be out of the headlines, still in the news, but out of the headlines. The left is only winning on 1 issue, COVID because people are naturally afraid of something they can't see killing them. Thugs piss them off. Invisible bugs scare them.

Trumps polls/ratings are directly correlated with COVID being at the forefront. There is a such thing as news cannibalizing itself. Less virus news is going to help trump because you know MSM will focus on SCOTUS the rest of the way. Same for what happened with BLM, no virus talk for weeks.
