Don't think one could realistically expect for much more. Had an additional shot or two dropped, the margin would've been under twenty points; in the final minute, it was looking like BU would only fall by sixteen or eighteen. And, at least for me, the whole thing was way more fun than watching another season officially open against, say, the likes of Northwood.
As I said on the other thread, I think it was a solid effort by a young team in its first game, without its senior point guard, on the road against a legendary top-ten opponent. Claycomb, Thelen, and Bradshaw impressed. But, among other things, that free throw shooting was atrocious!
If anything, like Moves, I'm even more optimistic about competing in the ASUN right off the bat. Expecting a win over Howard tomorrow (and it looks like yours truly will spring for ESPN+ in order to lawfully watch the titanic clash).
Pretty happy with my Freedom Hall seats too.
P.S. Probably shouldn't be surprised, and I admittedly don't subscribe to either paper (so maybe I missed something), but it looks like the
Herald-Leader's article on the Duke game was better than the
Courier-Journal's:

P.P.S. Heard through the grapevine that Younker might be injured. Still not sure why we didn't see Tipton on Friday night.
