They are there now. Since this is not accompanied by an announcemnt, I am guessing that there is still some games to be added

BU website is announcing radio coverage for coming basketball season, men's and women's. Doug Ormay will be back covering play by play for men. They mention that schedule for this year is not final yet due to covid.

They have taken all the pre conference games down now. I guess everything is in flux still. Moves believes the Duke game is still on though due to the Duke site saying BU is playing there.

So our games are carried on a local D1 cheerleader radio station..... kinda weird.
Glad to see Ormay back, guess last year was a Catholic Sports cost-cutting deal.

Hear Scotty is trying to get the Duke game on.

Also heard "some" fans at games

I think we are in for a tough introduction to the ASUN against Lipscomb. They have to be a favorite to win the conference. There is no way we can match up with AHSAN ASADULLAH.
The guy has a body identical to Lebron James. He can score, rebound, and has good assist numbers. Easily the best player in the conference and likely to have a long NBA career.

RE: 2020-2021 Season
Per a 10/23 post on an unofficial Duke blog (by CBS' 247Sports):

"Also scheduled for early December, the Blue Devils are expected to host a multi-team event with Bellarmine, Elon and Howard coming to play at Cameron Indoor Stadium, according to a report from Jeff Goodman. Duke will face off against Bellarmine and Elon in the two-game series, with the others playing games against each other."

https://247sports.com/college/duke/Artic...153439999/

As for the radio deal, there's likely wider coverage, and I guess more "prestige" (even though I think ESPN generally blows), being on an ESPN FM affiliate. Ormay is fine, but I was hoping to get Nick Curran back.

Here's one which doesn't really "bang the anvil," but we'll take what we can get at this point: Transy's website says their men are at playing at Bellarmine on 11/28.

Just announced that BU playing home games at Freedom Hall! Will be able to have 2700 fans in there under the guidelines set by the governor. Confirmed game against Transy on the 28th at 2 in Freedom Hall. It looks to be a multi year deal to play all mens and womens home games at Freedom hall.

RE: 2020-2021 Season
I consider this as good news on the whole. Able to sell as many season tickets or more than at Knights Hall is good. The only bad to it as it affects me is the fact that I live about 7 or 8 minutes drive from Knights Hall. Not necessarily good for the BU students since games won't be on campus. Also the Knights Hall atmosphere when the place was packed was something the other teams probably didn't relish. However I'm thrilled if in fact they'll allow over 2500 people in the place since I was almost resigned to not seeing them play this year in person.

RE: 2020-2021 Season
Love the move to Freedom Hall with covid restrictions as I too was not anticipating being able to see games in person this year. While that is great, I don't love the idea of moving home games to Freedom Hall past covid. While I wouldn't anticipate the move would hurt season ticket holder attendance significantly, I would expect a drastic change in student attendance. Being able to take a 5 minute walk across campus compared to driving to the game I think would be a significant deterrent (for college students). The goal should be to drive student and fan engagement, not simply play in a larger arena "because we're D1 now"

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet, but possibly the most important result of the move to Freedom Hall will be we will at least won't have to deal with those **x#@!! Knights Hall beams blocking the view of the court. Praise be to Lord for small favors!!

I agree, this is good for this season but for the long term it is going to hurt student attendance and the overall atmosphere. Also we lose a lot of the home court advantage since the team will not be practicing at Freedom Hall. Sure they will be playing 14-15 games a year in Freedom Hall but not quite the same as the place you practice everyday.

I think they are going to get to practice some there. I would expect that the administration will run busses to the fairgrounds from the dorms for games. I can't argue with the move, but it makes me sad to think I might not see another game in Knights Hall.

RE: 2020-2021 Season
Is this Freedom Hall thing throwing down the gauntlet at UofL? This may seem silly, but UofL is going to be looking at some draconian penalties from the NCAA in the not terribly distant future. (Can you say "death penalty"?) This does put Bellarmine in a position to pick up the slack.

Yeah, BU always sprung to bus many students to away NCAA Tournament games; so I can definitely see frequent shuttling from the dorms (I refuse to say "residence halls," and I also still say "Koster Commons" instead of "University Dining Hall").

I hear from a reliable, middle administration contact at BU that Knights Halls will still be used for a "classic" game once in a while. Don't know how often they envision that might be.

I'm a big fan of the switch. As I said last year on the D-II board, this D-I move is all about "optics," including those beyond athletics, and using Freedom Hall makes a massive splash. Lot of buzz about it.

For what it's worth, TN-Chattanooga's schedule opens with a home game against Bellarmine on 11/25, and there's a return game (presumably at Freedom Hall) on 12/9:
https://gomocs.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule

And the two-game Duke event is a "go" (BU's second game apparently is at Howard, who is co-hosting):

RE: 2020-2021 Season
Interesting that the respected Ken Pomeroy has Bellarmine ranked 291st out of 357 D-I programs and predicted a 7-9 initial season conference record:
https://www.wdrb.com/sports/bozich-hoops...d7b63.html
https://kenpom.com/

CBS Sports provided a similar ranking (296th) and indicated that BU may exceed that expectation.
https://www.cbssports.com/college-basket...21-season/

It's admittedly a little fun to see the Knights (as a D-I newcomer) already ranked ahead of several well-established programs, such as Air Force, Columbia, Rice, Holy Cross, Lehigh, UW-Milwaukee, Maine, The Citadel, and Morehead State.

Miami (OH) announced their hoops schedule, and it includes the Bellarmine game on Dec. 15th.
