RE: 2020-2021 Season
No Dylan Penn in the starting line up for Bellarmine. Very well may have missed the news of him being out, but very disappointing to see. I had been looking forward to finally seeing the full starting line up of Penn, Fleming, Bradshaw, Claycomb, and Thelen

In the pregame banter on the radio they were talking about games getting canceled and they said something about Dylan would have had to sit out 3 games but now he can play today and he missed none of them. So it was either a Covid thing or an injury. In any event I think that means he hasn't practiced with the team for several days.

A game with UK may happen:
https://www.aseaofblue.com/2020/12/23/22...s-d-i-naia

At least a couple of inaccuracies in that article, but it's interesting. Given this crazy year, nothing would surprise me.

That would be fun. The ridiculous mistakes in the article make me think the person has no clue and that the main premise is wrong. Still, that would be great and we would have a chance of winning. Seems like it would be worth cancelling or rescheduling Transy or MSJ if necessary

Heck, yeah -- let's try to get UK when there's at least a slight chance of a victory that would still "shock the world."

I absolutely agree! UK has really looked bad. This is the year to take a shot at them! They've still got some amazing athletes but they have no clue how to play as a team yet.

Lexington newspaper noting that a game against BU is an option for UK:
https://www.kentucky.com/article248111955.html

"Bellarmine University, a private Catholic school in its first season in NCAA Division I, would be interested in playing Kentucky, Coach Scott Davenport said Saturday night. Conveniently, his Knights — like Kentucky — do not have a mid-week game this week."
...
"Davenport said he contacted Kentucky last spring about playing a game. He said he also spoke with Western Kentucky, Northern Kentucky, Morehead State, Evansville, Dayton and Cincinnati.

When he learned that High Point would play at Eastern Kentucky this season, Davenport contacted High Point Coach Tubby Smith about scheduling a game. It could not be arranged.

'We’re going to listen to everybody,' Davenport said.

That's a contest for the BU Lady Knights™. I've seen it incorrectly classified at ESPN and a few other places; not sure why they got it wrong.

In that game, BU closed the gap to two in the final four minutes, but couldn't pull it off the against undefeated UE.

RE: 2020-2021 Season
I plan on going to the Transy and Mt St. Joseph games, but given the fact its New years day with the college football playoffs on TV and with the Covid thing raging, plus its hard to get excited about playing DIII competition, I have the feeling the attendance is going to be very poor. Hope I'm wrong.

Nice team play, Pedro really high energy, CJ stroking, Dylan under control, Sophs adding strength. Bring on the ASUN.
Understood that was D3

Got a problem with Scotty calling that a first D1 win at home for us.
Would be an exhibition for any other D1 program.

Checking scores, the Limpscombs that we play next weekend, just beat Liberty, that beat Miss St and So Carolina.
We are in a big-time league now, Go Knights, make a statement

Unfortunately this is not true, every team in the ASUN has played teams as bad as Transy including bad NAIA and NCCAA teams.

Yeah, the Lipscomb games will be a great "measuring stick" for the Knights. Go BU!

RE: 2020-2021 Season
Knights once again looked good again Saturday against Mt. St. Joe but the first ASUN weekend will be a good test. Comer looks like he could be a much needed outside shooter. Devault continues to look good but we'll see how he and Thelen show against bigger more physical opposition soon.
On a negative note I see that Florida Gulf Coast has postponed their conference games for the next two weekends due to virus concerns. I guess the likelihood of our schedule getting turned upside down is something we'll have to deal with.

Y’all are gonna be shocked by the play of Ahsan Asadullah. That big dude is a player. It’s a treat to watch him play. He’s basically unstopable.

In the BU postgame radio interview Coach Davenport was raving about Asadullalh and how he will be a handful. He also mentioned Lipscomb's point guard as being lightning quick.

Of course, you can't tell very much (if anything) from this sort of comparison, but it's interesting to note that Mt. St. Joseph played Miami (OH) relatively closely and didn't get completely beat down by Western Illinois; then again they got slapped by something called Trine (okay, I actually know where it is and am just being a wise guy).
