I guess it boils down to "Get on out there and play sports for our amusement. You got your schollys, move it." SMDH.

I would hope that UAB's coaches, fans, and administration would do better that that.

Texas Tech is probably one of those programs that we've heard about that subscribed to the "chicken Pox" party theory. Have everyone get it early so they won't have it during the season. LSU said something similar in the last day or so.

Clemson said something about that a couple of months ago...

bull****. We don't even fully understand what "recovered" means yet, especially in athletes.

I think recovered means they are not clinically displaying symptoms and thus have recovered from the depths of the virus. It does not mean they don’t or won’t have lingering symptoms.
The investment in chaos is bewildering.

But they may have NEVER displayed symptoms.

So are you saying some of those without ever having symptoms will have long term issues from Covid 19?
Kind of like concussions can cause long term issues. I think the players know that playing football comes with certain risks. Some that we don’t fully understand. They have a choice of opting out. Some have.
The Big10 is likely going to play this season too. Pressure from parents of players and the players themselves will prompt this. Shouldn’t they decide after assessing the risk?

Yes. They should. My point is that it is impossible for them to truly assess the risk right now. There's too much information that they can't know. So the only truly viable option is to completely isolate positives away from everyone else. Letting everybody get sick just to get it over with is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard, and that's saying something in 2020.

My point is the players should decide.
Not a bunch of elites that hate football.

I second the motion.

Well moderation isn't up for debate and shouldn't be debated publicly. This thread hasn't technically broken any rules. But, I do feel it has run its course and will close it to further replies. We all know that this is inane bickering will just rise again in another thread.
