Doubtful. This school is going to be hurting for a while...which sucks because it was already hurting

Please donate....I believe in the idea of NIU

His interview on the Score was great. He is really pushing the Spring football idea. Can't say that it wouldn't be a bad idea considering all of the current unknowns.

RE: Frazier - Not on my watch
The P5's are definitely going to play a 2020 season at some point, even if it's a 5 or 6 game schedule next spring. They're not walking away from all that money. My guess is the G5's and FCS will follow suit.

Also, roster management would become a fiasco without a 2020 season. Without a season their roster management choices will be as follows:

1. Grant everyone who was on the 2020 roster an extra year of eligibility. However, the 2021 recruiting class will show up in June of 2021 and you'll have six recruiting classes on your roster instead of five. You'll have something like 80 freshmen from the 20 and 21 classes, and somewhere around 150 total players with 85 scholarships to give. (Note: I've seen it suggested that only seniors be granted an extra year, but that also leads to roster problems and is unfair to everyone else who loses that year.)

2. Have everyone who was on the 2020 roster lose that year of eligibility. This provides roster normalcy when the 21 class shows up but penalizes everyone else, particularly seniors like Bowers and Pugh who wouldn't get to play their final season.

3. Grant everyone on the 2020 roster an extra year of eligibility and grayshirt your entire 21 recruiting class, meaning they don't enroll until January of 22 and thus count toward your 2022 recruiting class. This means you can't recruit any 2022 high school graduates which penalizes them and is just weird all around.

I just don't see any of those scenarios happening, which is why some form of a season will be played, even if it's a handful of games in spring. That way they can turn the roster over normally and not penalize anyone more than anyone else. My vote would be a five game spring season plus conference championship games, followed by an eight team playoff: All five P5 champs, the highest ranked G5 team and two wild cards. It would be a good excuse to test drive an eight team playoff for one season.

I could see some lower levels playing in the fall. Some D3 conferences for example may figure they can control the variables sufficiently with conference play and bus travel to allow a fall season. Like high school: get dressed at home, get on the bus, go to the game, get back on the bus and go home. Here's an example: https://footballscoop.com/news/d-iii-lea...ll-sports/
