Recruiting Update
With the commitment on Aug. 22 of DB Dajhon "DJ" Smith, Central Michigan currently has 13 known verbal commitments in its 2021 recruiting class. The class is reportedly nearly full, with only a couple spots currently open.

Listed below are the recruits still on the board who I believe have a "committable" offer. These players are all linemen and my hunch is offensive tackle is a priority. With eligibility being extended and the potential for a spring season, I don't think quarterback is necessarily a priority for the '21 class now. That doesn't mean if Grayson James wants to play for CMU they won't find room for him, I just think the priority to roundout the class is in the trenches.

OT Bryce Biggs (6-6, 285) of Huntington (W.V.) Spring Valley High School.
Offered Aug. 7
Biggs also reports offers from Marshall, Western Kentucky, USM, Arkansas State, Akron, Kent State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, Youngstown State, Richmond, Holy Cross, Lehigh, Colgate and Georgetown.

OT Brandon Mackinnon (6-7, 285) of The Hun School of Princeton (N.J.).
Offered Aug. 3
A post-graduate student in the class of 2021 and native of Lakeville, Mass., Mackinnon also reports offers from Virginia, Northern Illinois, UMass, Monmouth, Richmond, William & Mary, Colgate and Lafayette.

OT Dylan Rollins (6-6, 285) of Missoula (Mont.) Sentinel High School.

TE Hunter Marcom (6-7, 235) of Waupaca (Wisc.) High School.
Offered Aug. 6
Marcom also reports an offer from Valparaiso.

TE Colin Weber (6-4, 230) of Hopkins (Mich.) High School.
Offered May 11
Weber also reports offers from Fordham, Eastern Illinois and Dartmouth, as well as a roster spot from Div. III Kalamazoo College. Additionally, Weber has a basketball scholarship offer from Div. II Grand Valley State.

TE Carter Evans (6-4, 235) of Crystal Lake (Ill.) Prairie Ridge High School.
Offered May 2, 2019
Evans also reports offers from Syracuse, Virginia, Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo, Western Michigan, Wyoming, Army, Navy, North Dakota State, Illinois State, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Missouri State, Southeast Missouri State, Western Illinois, Fordham, Furman, Holy Cross, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton and Yale.

TE Blake Nelson (6-4, 235) of Walled Lake (Mich.) Central High School.
Offered Jan. 14, 2019
Nelson also reports offers from Kentucky, Purdue, Rutgers, Louisville, Cincinnati, Temple, Buffalo, Toledo, Kent State, Air Force, Western Illinois and Morgan State.

DE/OLB Fernando Sanchez (6-3, 215) of Loganville (Ga.) Grayson High School.
Offered Aug. 11
Sanchez committed to Fordham Aug. 9. He also reports offers from Maryland, Arizona State, Akron, Liberty, Austin Peay, Alabama State and Jacksonville State.

DE James Yelbert (6-6, 230) of Wilmington (Del.) Salesianum High School.

RE: Recruiting Update
I like it. Firm believer that a great offensive line makes your qb/rb/wrs all that much better and a good/great defensive line makes your linebackers and dbs better also.
