Games left to be played? College sports is done this year and next. See you guys Fall 2021 if we still have the money to play sports by then..Thank you woke cancel culture!
Wow! Are finances that bad at WKU?
It will be at UNT if students are not allowed on campus...
UNT gets 31% of your budget from student fees. Western gets 13%. At some point a student is going to take one of these schools to court over paying these fees when there are no sports being played.
I bet a school getting almost 1/3 of their budget from these fees would be hit a lot harder than one getting 13%. But both would be hurting.
Western would take a larger hit on TICKET SALES,CONTRIBUTIONS, RIGHTS / LICENSING if no sports are being played.....$9,827,778 or 32.5% of the budget.
While UNT doesnt make as much as Western when it comes to tickets sold $1,761,878 and contributions $2,682,814. UNT makes more on Rights/Licensing $6,022,983. For a total of $10,467,675 or another 25.5% of the UNT budget
So that's a potential $23,081,286 from the UNT budget or 56.6% (11% more than Western). Dont fool yourself, no G5 school is going to be able to eat a loss like that for two years without scaling back to match the loss.
That includes UNT. I believe I read an article a month or so ago about how UNT is already hurting
