RE: BIG10 going Conference Only
I'm all for conference games only ... Don't see what it's got to do with Covid 19 though.
Get Mike A. to fire up the scheduling computer and get'r done. Just don't change the location of the UCF game.
That's a BIG schedule upgrade in my opinion. Purdue at Purdue ... WTF. UTSA in SA ... UTM as our last home game ... In November ... GMAB !! We'd pick up ECU and Tulsa. Do it !!

i dont see the season going on but if so...

You’re f’n high if you think a G5 school will make a 4 team CFP, maybe when it expands to 8 but certainly not 4

Well, we are the 4th strongest conference in the country, so there's that. An ACC, PAC12 and Big 12 team would have to lose at least one game; One team in the $EC and Big Ten would have to run the table and give everyone else 2 losses.

We in theory will play at least 3 games against ranked opponents and if SMU can sneak into the top 25 that will be 4; with at least 2 games on the road.

But with conference only games, they could just write us off as having played no “P5” teams.

Pretty much this. And any metric that shows the AAC as top 5 will be ignored as we have seen. It feels to me like the AAC champ would have to go undefeated while the other conference champs would have to lose two just to have a shot.

RE: BIG10 going Conference Only
Many P5 non-con games are buy games to fill stadiums and sell tix. Since stadiums can't be filled, does it make sense to pay schools $750k to come play a game that does not help you in tix or tv?

There is the mostly geographical alignment (I see you, West Virginia) which allows you to reduce expenses. And testing/containment protocol will be similar throughout your conference, but not necessarily throughout the country.

RE: BIG10 going Conference Only
If we go to conference-only, it creates ten closed systems.

Whereas in a normal season, by week five or so every FBS program is connected with each other, and all of FBS + FCS is by season's end.

Wondering why this was moved to NTR when it clearly is Tiger related, but whatever
