RE: Big Ten to Conference-Only Schedule
The MAC needs to have some balls and play as many games as possible.

RE: Big Ten to Conference-Only Schedule
Just thinking out loud, so to speak ... if a non-conference game contract has an "out" for epidemic, pandemic, Act of God, etc., how can you justify non-payment when you're still playing conference games? Wouldn't you have to cancel all games in order to legally support that clause?

On the other hand, pressing this could bite a G5 in the a** in future when trying to schedule against the P5 for $.

One alternative: partial payment now (helps current G5 finances) counting against payment for future game.

RE: Big Ten to Conference-Only Schedule
My guess is B1G schools will just come to a mutual agreement with MAC schools to reschedule in a future year. MAC schools, not wanting to burn bridges for future paydates, will acquiesce.

Clueless.

IHSA has new rules that prohibits scrimmages. How do you play football without tackling? Answer: you don't.

Give it 2 weeks.

Prarie... usually I have respect for you but you seem to be out of touch.

You can't just rub dirt on this and make covid go away.

If college football were a stock it would be time to sell and fast.

People are getting sick and the average age has dropped 10 years since March, meaning younger people are getting it.

Football will most likely not happen in 2020.

Big Ten to Conference-Only Schedule
Wgn sports just discussed the big10 decision and video in background had Marcus Childers doing a rpo option, kept the ball and ran 75 yards for TD against toledo. Always puts a smile on my face to beat toledo.

Anyways...They speculated the other power conferences to follow suit.

Yes more infections, but death rates falling. It is not a significant illness for anyone under 60 or someone with a health issue. These people should be sheltered and the rest of us need to move on. You are ignoring the facts not prairiedawg. Cratering an entire economy is not the solution. Get away from the fear porn you getting feed and dig a bit deeper. You do not think if the virus was killing younger people or children that the sycophants in the media would be all over it? All they can state is more positive tests. Yes and the overwhelming majority of people do not even know they have it. Deadly virus to a very small percentage of the population that should be protected. Go ahead and bend over if you want, but do not be shocked when our so called leaders at the state and city level keep consolidating the power they have already grabbed.

I assume that they may try to schedule additional conference games if they can. Which ever teams are of that week will play as long as they are not scheduled already

Wear a mask so they can wear a helmet. Since a large % of the population won't and a vaccine won't be ready this year = slim chance.

So you believe covid is a power grab by state and local leaders and only old people are dying?

And THAT is exactly why we will not have football this year.

I never understood the JB wants unlimited Illinois power conspiracy. Why would a billionaire want to shutdown and destroy the economy? Was this his plan when he ran for office? These conspiracies held very little water before the states opened back up. Now we are seeing how much of a disaster it has been for the states that did open early and that conspiracy has completely evaporated.

Football isn't going to happen this year. Perhaps if we had cohesive federal leadership in March, April, May and June we would be in better shape. I have been enjoying Premier League soccer, and have been constantly thinking about how the rest of the world treated the virus compared to entitled Americans. Sucks, but it is the reality of our situation.

I previously mentioned that my wife works in a hospital. The virus does not check the victim's age before it attacks. My wife has seen patients with the COVID-19 virus who are in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. Some got it bad and ended up dying. This virus does not discriminate.

For people under 30, there is very very little risk of death. And for college age kids and younger that risk is so tiny you probably have better chance of death driving to grocery store

The commish for not quite as good of a reason as yours. Our spineless money hungry commish who would play all MAC games in a dog kennel if it meant more money for him has slightly different motives than we do

Besides, I don’t think it is political to compare how they are playing every major soccer league in Europe and we are still not sure if baseball is going to be played. That isn’t political, it just shows what countries took the virus seriously and which countries did not.

We are really hurting for info with the loss of Daily Chronicle & Shaw coverage of NIU sports. Has there been any comment from STF? Any from FB about Covid-19 impacts?

All athletes are 18-23, if they get Covid-19, the vast majority will be asymptomatic. For the coaches and assistants, there is enough information to stay safe. Use common sense

And if even 1 athlete dies from it? What then?
