It's not a good omen at all. As much as I want college football (and especially our Huskies) and other sports, i just don't see how it can happen.

While having the college football season in the spring (assuming there is a vaccine) is a thought, it still feels like trying to put square pegs in round holes. Perhaps we would be better off with no 2020 college football season (including in the spring of 2021), the NCAA granting all players another year of eligibility and other things to make that happen.
"the NCAA granting all players another year of eligibility and other things to make that happen" Our good friend Barry at Wisconsin already told his spring athletics they will not get an extra year on scholarship because their season was cancelled. .

Now it's about post-recovery health problems.

Just saw an article in which researchers saw that 78% of 100 people studied had heart problems after recovery (even mild cases). Other observers have been seeing lung, kidney, balance, smell, taste, circulatory and neurological problems in patients who "recover." Not to mention that antibodies might only last 2-4 weeks.

I wonder what this means for all the pro and college athletes getting COVID-19 right now. How will this affect their careers?

SEC joins ACC, B10, and Pac 10 in playing conference only. Not sure when we will have the conference only 11 game MAC schedule announced. If I were in charge, I'd just forget about the fall and move those sports to the spring and keep my fingers crossed we will be able to play then.

May not happen but I read Iowa State added Ball State. Kentucky had also scheduled Southern Illinois. It doesn't look like that will happen now with the SEC moving to 10 games.

BREAKING: The ACC has released its 2020 football schedule and Notre Dame will still play Western Michigan on Sept. 19.

The Irish are allowed 10 conference games and one nonconference game under the ACC’s guidelines.

WMU will receive $1.175 mill from ND for the game.

I have faith that STF can schedule the Presbyterian Blue Hose and bring in $1.79.

Lucky WMU. Get that game in a run for the exits!

RE: Covid-19 and college sports ... (Plz Update at will)
I was wondering why NIU doesn't say much about Covid-19 ... except the usual "we're doing a great job." So I did a search and found this (see link). Apparently, NIU's lack of reporting on Covid-19 and student-athletes is part of a conference-wide transparency situation.

https://www.freep.com/story/sports/colle...420642002/

Note that schools that did respond gave test numbers, but not "positives."

As a fan and contributor, I am getting real tired of all this secrecy and the attitude that comes down to ... "just send money."

“MAC presidents meeting today has been delayed until Saturday, source tells @SInow. They are expected then to discuss the future of a 2020 season and determine a format.”

From FootballScoop:

MACtion: Well, this morning Ralph Russo reported the MAC was planning to move forward with a season; however word this afternoon from Ross Dellenger is that they have delayed a decision until Saturday. Word had been circulating within the profession that NIU was strongly considering not playing this season regardless of the conference decision. Will update when more is clear.
