Covid-19 and college sports ... (Plz Update at will)
May have been some thread like this somewhere, so may be some repetition (apologies), but as we get closer to FB season, might be interesting to summarize and update what's going on around college sports. Here are a few, some taken from other threads.

Note: am trying for links only here, with commentary on other threads so it doesn't get tangled up, but that's up to board members. Links can always be copied to other discussion threads. Anyway ...please ... if you find it, post it for all. We can all check back to see what's new(s).

Article hints at B1G moving to a conference-only season.

Which would bust two of your games.

I think people have thrown in the towel completely pvk, sports is not going to occur in the current environment we are in. You can pretty much wrap up this thread as NIU 2021 Football Outlook (HOPEFULLY, pray to the lord hahah)

MLB already canceling games three days into their season, not a good omen.

Already filmed and ready. The Last Chance U series is always created from the prior season (last September - December). It runs eleven months after the season.

The D3 conference CCIW, home of reigning football national champ North Central, just pulled the plug on fall sports.

CCIW postponed fall sports. Exploring the idea of moving impacted sports to the spring: Football, Golf, Soccer, and Cross Country. I guess if they have a vaccine by that time, it may work.

Per FBS Schedule Twitter:

“The Iowa State Cyclones have added the Ball State Cardinals to their 2020 football schedule, it was announced on Tuesday.

Iowa State will host Ball State at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa, on Sept. 12, 2020. The contest replaces Iowa State’s canceled game against in-state foe Iowa, and it also replaces Ball State’s canceled home game against Michigan. The Cardinals also had games against Maine and at Indiana canceled.”

How in the Wide World of Sports is this happening?

And how did BSU get Michigan to agree to visit?

Fauci: The MLB season could be 'in danger' as players test positive for coronavirus.

It's not a good omen at all. As much as I want college football (and especially our Huskies) and other sports, i just don't see how it can happen.

While having the college football season in the spring (assuming there is a vaccine) is a thought, it still feels like trying to put square pegs in round holes. Perhaps we would be better off with no 2020 college football season (including in the spring of 2021), the NCAA granting all players another year of eligibility and other things to make that happen.

I want a separate statistic on athletes and COVID. Track positive, asymptomatic, mild, hospital and death. Bet 99.5 will be mild or less
