We got a 2 for 1 with them in basketball; can we get the opposite in football?

I was too. They like playing us until that game. Their fans took it well.

you shouldn't have to give bama 2 for 1. Memphis is a nice road trip for the Tide, and it might make college game day.

You must like being skull drug.

It would be fun to look forward to and dream about until 30 minutes after kickoff.

Saban wouldn't try to get cute like the Penn State coach. He would run the ball every freaking play.

That's true. But hey, if we lose no big deal. However, if we win and TCB, we're in the playoff picture.

You are absolutely right...That is likely the only way an outsider has a shot...

You have to beat a P5 contender during the season.

I won a lot of money that day. ( for my betting level)

A guy that came by our tailgate had a brother on the Utk team. He said Fat Phil had told the team that their goal was to run for 240 yards against Memphis.

After hearing that, I said to myself there is no way they cover 26 points running the ball, then I said out loud " if they are determined to establish the run, we could win the game" everyone around me laughed but I still made the bet. 5x bigger than the biggest bet I had ever made. I did not have the insight to bet us to win but I did take the 26points

That 89 game was a broiling September day game at Legion Field. I had hopes lightning was going to strike twice as we were tied 7-7 at the half. Fun times with the fans till then. Hopes were quickly dashed as we lost 35-7.

Sounds about right for Fat Phil. You have Peyton freakin Manning at QB and you decide you are going to take the ball out of his hands and show the Tigers just how physical you can be and decide to run the ball down their throat until their tongues are draggin'. He got just what he deserved.

Congrats on your windfall! 04-cheers
