RE: Two Months to Opener!
I think 57 might have a point this is not a 100% done deal. The website does give the option of football doing an “independent” schedule. I did miss this nuance earlier today when I posted. The balls might still be in the air on this one.

I do think the Maryland & Iowa games are still on the NIU athletics website. Need to keep this current IMO.

Where or what is your source for this info?
Rhode Island is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association for football and yesterday's (7-17-2020) CAA press release stated: CAA Football became the latest domino to tumble in college football, announcing on Friday it will not have a conference schedule this fall due to concerns over the global COVID-19 pandemic. The 12 members of the conference, however, are allowed to pursue independent schedules.
From the Rhode Island athletic website, there is no specific mention yet of their football plans.
The conference cancelled fall sports.

Okay, if this is truly the case, then what the hell is wrong with NIU Media Relations? Why isn't something updated on the Huskie website. Better yet, why isn't there just a short story with some spin from Frazier or Hammock? "We understand Rhode Island's decision, but we are still moving ahead and monitoring circumstances relative to the remainder of our schedule. Should upcoming schedules provide an opening that fits, NIU will still welcome the Rams to Huskie Stadium sometime in the future."
So an FCS operation is making an announcement regarding our home schedule? That should not happen at any true FBS (Division I) institution.
Does NIU have a SID? Where is Mike Korcek when we need him?

Over the past week, the number has steadily increased. At her hospital, it is now at the level it was in April/May. Although she wears PPE, the hospital management has ordered all staff to wear plastic face shields all day. Can you imagine what it is like to wear PPE clothing, including masks and face shields, all day long? That's what happens when you work in a hospital. Luckily, my wife has not had to often work directly with COVID patients, but she has.

My wife got a very mild case of COVID in May. She had no fever. Just lost her sense of small and taste for a week and had a little bout of depression. That was it, thank God. Not even a fever. So, obviously, I have been exposed but had no symptoms.

COVID is real. True, if you divide the number of those who have/have had COVID over the entire U.S. population, the percentage is small. But, people who think they are invincible are not. My wife has had patients who were fine one day, diagnosed with COVID the next day, and then died a few days later. Those who doubt the reality and seriousness of this virus just need to stand a day in her shoes. Thank God for people like her. But, I do worry a hell of a lot.

Having just seen this post simply wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to your wife for her work. Hope and pray neither she, you, or anyone else has to deal with this situation.
I concur. Thanks Mrs. DF. You too Dog Fan.
