Korean Baseball Organization on ESPN starting now
From ESPN:
Quote:You can watch the action on ESPN, starting with a 1 a.m. ET broadcast of the NC Dinos and Samsung Lions matchup on opening night on ESPN and continuing with six regular-season games per week primarily on ESPN2.

RE: Korean Baseball Organization on ESPN starting now
I watched a little of this last night; easier for me than most because the starting time was 10 pm Pacific. I won't watch the next televised game, because it starts at 2:30 am Pacific time tomorrow (Wednesday).
Looks like it's about at the level of AA or AAA baseball.

I might try to catch a game or two. Some live sports is better than nothing at all.

More live sports are on the way. Bundesliga is back starting next week.
EDIT: That graphic is wrong about the time difference between Germany and NYC. The difference is 6 hours, thus for example the Dortmund-Schalke match will start at 9:30 am New York time and 6:30 am out here on the best coast.

I guess FOX got lucky with that one. Usually, the Bundesliga is on the back burner for sports fans in the US. Now they'll have a strong audience.

Really lucky in a way, because it's Fox's last year with the Bundesliga. ESPN (mostly ESPN+) gets it starting next season.

Great to see the matches this morning, but someone needs to tell the Fox announcers to STFU so that we can hear the sounds of the game echoing inside the empty stadium.

The F-bomb is universal, so I think the director would prefer them to "hopefully" talk over that.
A PA guy and someone on a soundboard was odder to me. At least the KBO can have a sound guy since the cheerleaders/dance squad was in the stadium.
A work in progress for them all.

That might be it; they think US TV audiences can't handle the way athletes talk.
Playing the team song after the home team scores is probably something the home team's supporters expect and want to hear, maybe even more so when the stadium is empty.
PA announcer was a plus because he did a better job announcing goal scorers and substitutions while the TV announcers were slow about it. Because of the strange new pandemic-related substitution rule, the TV guys are going to have to get acclimated and be prepared when a team substitutes 2 or even 3 new players into the game at once.

Fox doesn't have a production team on site anyway, do they?
That may be a part of the issue in adjusting to the environment. For them, it's really not any different without fans.

You're probably right. Based on the announcing teams, my guess is that Fox's broadcasts are using the English-language announcers from Sky Sports and that those guys were in London calling the match off of a TV feed.

That's taking social distancing way beyond 6 feet.

Ha. It was already becoming a thing for a lot of sports broadcasts before 2020. beIN Sports, for example, has for several years had an announcing team in Miami working La Liga matches by watching the TV feed.

The KBO play is alright ... nice to see some live sports.
As for the coverage .....
PLEASEEEEEEEE ESPN PLEEEEEEEEAASEEEEEEEEEE stop having so many annoying people on talking right over the game. That includes your employees! I'd rather hear the sound of the silent stadium!

what I've watched I've felt like it's normal baseball for the most part.... It's tough to watch because I know almost none of the players... It's not like watching a MLB game where I know of most every single player....

They had the Red Sox organist on today's game and they briefly let him play to the action. That's almost better than the broadcast.

RE: Korean Baseball Organization on ESPN starting now
ESPN still doesn't pay close enough attention to the games, but the qualilty of the guests on has gotten way higher. And it's nice not to have a third of the game covered with moaning and crying over MLB not having a start date.
I liked getting the virtual tour of Seoul on Wednesday.
