So what? I would pay $50-75 a month for a sports package only. Especially if I could customize it a-la-carte. Who would choose to pay for ESPNews? I know why they don’t offer it, but all these OTT offering are becoming cable without the contracts, equipment and installs.

Sling Orange has ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 authentication, TBS, TNT and Stadium for $30, together with 25 non sports channels. That is the cheapest option for subscribing to ESPN.

For relatively complete sports packages, YouTube TV and Hulu + Live are the only realistic options. Fubo and Vidgo are both missing TBS and TNT now, which therefore omits half of the NBA national games, a big part of the MLB playoffs and, most importantly for this board, the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

Also worth noting, Fubo followed YouTube's lead today and increased its price to $60 as it adds a Disney/ESPN channel package and drops its WarnerMedia/AT&T channel package.

Sling Orange is pretty good, missing FS1 and some other channels. As you mentioned, Fubo dropped the Turner channels and added ESPN. That is the problem with every single service, it's always missing something. Let us pick 15 channels for $50 or something. I don't want Disney Jr and ABC Family. I would rather pay $10 for ESPN alone, than $8 for ESPN and a bunch of Disney owned channels.

At this point, cable networks have to be careful not to offer more advantageous deals to the Over the Top competitors than they do to traditional cable and satellite providers. This includes requiring providers to inclusion of a minimum group of corporate sister channels in order to offer high demand channels like ESPN. This limits their ability to build packages in a more flexible manner.

If you are willing to pay around $50 there are some good options. Hulu + Live TV is only $55 and includes essentially all of the key channels with national sports rights (the NFL Network being the notable exception) and many (but not all) RSNs. YouTube TV was an incredible deal at $50, less so at $65.

If there are only a handful of key channels that you want, though, you may be able to find a good combo with Sling Orange or Sling Blue, or Vidgo, in the $30-40 range. As a Syracuse fan, the key channels for me are ESPN, ESPN2, ACCN, TBS and TNT. I can add CBS for one month during the NCAAT for $6. Sling Orange with Sports Extra gets me all of those for $40. However, when you compare that to Hulu + Live TV, you can get a huge number of extra channels, sports and other, essentially for just $15.

I understand. I just wish I could get an OTT service with just sports or where I could pick the channels.

ESPN
ESPN2
ESPNU
FS1
FS2
NBCSN
CBSSN
MLB,NBA, NHL, NFL
BeIn
TUDN
SEC
ACC
B1G
PAC-12
TBS
TNT
Tru
Regional Sports Net

Give me this and a handful of non-sports channels. I will gladly pay up to $75 a month. No contracts, just like the others.

ESPN by itself would be at least $10. ESPN 2/U/News and the others would make it close to $20

And these companies would rather receive $50+ from you each month than $10/mo. Hence forcing you to pay for everything you don't watch.
