Bait and switch
https://thefederalist.com/2020/06/29/fla...nd-switch/

Have the rest of you noticed how many people have bought the media's bait and switch?

"Flattening the curve was the bait. Next came the switch.

It didn’t take long for the “flattening the curve” storyline to be abandoned. For example, California had more than 26,000 hospital beds available for coronavirus patients, but they locked down when they had about 200 coronavirus hospitalizations on March 20. That was less than 1 percent of their coronavirus hospital capacity. It quickly became clear that the California hospital system was not under threat, yet the lockdowns remained and “flatten the curve” was abandoned in favor of “suppress at all costs....”"

There's a large building here in Memphis that used to house the city's largest newspaper that my younger brother just spent the last two - three months involved in converting it to a hospital specifically for COVID patients. He was actually paid government scale, almost twice as much as his usual hourly rate. Anyway, that "hospital" has yet to see its first patient.

Gazillions of dollars were spent on military built hospitals in a number of cities that were eventually dismantled without ever seeing a patient. You barely ever saw anything about those on any news outlets.

We have a population of uniformed sheep that just want someone to tell them what to do. They don't want to have to think for themselves.

Guessing that total project ran somewhere around $20-30M (I know what my company billed out as part of it). We had guys making almost $3K a week doing 70+ hr weeks. Probably never see a patient in there, but it was a short term economic driver for a small swath of businesses and individuals.

I haven't believed much of what we've been told about the great pandemic. At this point, I don't even know anyone that knows someone else that's had it.

However, I do know one thing. You can't spell "pandemic" without DEM and PANIC.

panDEMic ... PANdemIC

Yeah my brother was happier than a two peckered pup over the checks he was getting.

Much of the population has come to depend on the MSM for their information so you can see why there are so many sheep.

I actually have a friend that has it. Got diagnosed about 2 weeks ago. Her and her Dad both have it. She's 47 and he's closer to 70. Both described it as being like a bad sinus infection, neither needed much in the way of medical care.

There ya go.

You never see the MSM reporting that, though.

Its a 98% survival rate and had Cuomo not killed thousands in nursing homes, it'd probably be closer to 100%

My wife and I know probably about 10 people who are confirmed to have had it. One of her co-workers had it and that woman's mother died of it. We know (met once or twice) someone from our church who died from it. The co-worker and one of my son's friend's father are the only ones we know well. The co-worker had it pretty bad. The friend's father, not so bad.

Not saying it doesn't exist. Not saying people haven't died from it.

I am saying that it's not what we're being told. I think it has a very narrow demographic that is vulnerable to it and they need to protect themselves, not shut everyone else down.

I also think that the numbers are inflated/manipulated. I think many of those numbered deaths were not directly because of covid, but get attributed to it.

I think if you're old and ill living in a nursing home, you've got cause for alarm.

I think the rest of us can pretty much go about our business.

One thing that never gets mentioned is that the early models showed the worst results with an extreme shutdown. The spike in the fall was almost as bad as the original.

I have several nurse friends and a surgical assistant friend who have confirmed the bold. I agree with everything else also.

$200billion is the reason. There are a llllllllllot if people in America with no family. Hospitalists are mainly the ones treating these patients in the hospital and they are employees of the hospital. My aunt was in the hospital with it for 10 days. She was in ICU for two and she doesn't know why. Her O2 sat never got below 92. $39k is the reason she was in ICU. WHEN THE $$$ runs out the cases will decrease.

My wife is in public health. She and another worker are being paid OT by the feds to do contact tracing and other covid related duties on top of her regular salary. The county is not having to pick up any of the OT. She has worked 86 straight days. The OT is piling up. There is no telling how much money the Feds are paying out nation wide for people to do this.
