What the MEAC is up to
The ASUN being blocked from forming a new league had all kinds of
repercussions in the region. The ASUN lost its factor in determining who new FBS teams will be but will still have vast influence.

Some MEAC schools will now get their chance, mainly Howard,.Hampton, NC AT, and FAMU.

The ASUN has rights over a division of the Big South Football league. It will add Tenn- Chatty and Jacksonville St. It will.also add JMU, Delaware, and Stony Brooke. It will have the right to NC AT, Howard, and Hampton. SC St will probably have their rights owned the the Big South.

So the initial class of FBS ASUn would be Jacksonville St, UTC, Kennesaw St, Hampton, NC AT, Howard, Delaware, JMU, Stony Brooke. Liberty waiting in the wings with Famu and more could be added like EKU, Albany, UNH etc.

Later, UNA, UNF, FGCU would get their chance in FBS if they wanted it.

Howard is the only one in the MEAC from this group.

Is it true that you agreed to stop posting on July 1?

Made a bet with a moderator that knows next to nothing about the rules and he declined.

Hampton is the only MEAC member officially gone. Decisions can be made in advance. Hampton had the most incentive as they still need more seat fors FBS am so they have ODU as a neighbor.

When the ASUN division finishes their FBS transition, the NCAA probably records this new conference is FBS or the NCAA will be declared racist.

Exactly what "rights" do the ASUN have to anyone in Big South football? They have an agreement that ASUN schools will have a home in Big South football. They have no "right" to Hampton and A&T, both of whom are full-time BS members, or Howard, which is still in the MEAC and could go any number of places. Why would the Big South "own the rights" to S.C. State?

NC A&T, FAMU, and BCU are officially gone too. They’re headed to other destinations and would only change them for the ACC or SEC.

Does this mean that NC A&T, Florida A&M, and Bethune are not leaving? 05-nono

Sorry, as Ieft that important Information out.

In a MEAC video above, the MEAC commisioner said when the BIg South fb gets to 12, each conference can pick 6 and go their own way. This would be a way to form their own FBS league for the ASUN.

Imagine that RMU is just using the the Bjg South as a holding spot for when the MVFC is ready and Monmouth is waiting for the CAA .

Yes, they are leaving but maintaining rationships with some past family. Bethune Cookman maybe goes to the Big South with SC State when FAMU moves up.

NC A&T's President had mentioned he was considering FBS for that U, but the press never followed up on that desire. Turns out the Big South move just might portend an FBS move.

If the SWAC moves up to FBS, why would BCU hang back to the Big South? I am not following.

Dude is on crack. I have so many connections with the FAMU athletic department it’s not even funny. If you think for a second that FAMU is moving up to FBS, then you are crazy.

Never said anything about the SWAC moving up, ever.

I mean, it’s easy to locate those with processing deficiencies on here. He made a bet & the other guy declined? Hampton is in the MEAC, well I mean they’re not, but they could move somewhere like others from the MEAC, so they’re in the MEAC.

Well I must be crazy because FAMU tried to move up to the Belt 20 years ago.

Earlier this year, the ASUN decided that wanted to have 20 teams and split, with one fb conference. Made a PowerPoint presentation and everything. The ASUn backed out of it when the MEAC started losing the teams.

It's obvious which poster has deficient info.

Yes, they tried to move up about 15 years ago. That was 15 years ago... Do you know what sort of state FAMU is in financially today?

FAMU is not a key factor here. To get FBS, FAMU is not needed as there are many other schools that want FBS. Coastal Carolina is not exactly a wealthy school, but they did when a stadium doubling was needed.

I don't think NoDak is entirely self-aware, but more so than DavidSt, who seems to almost completely lack self-awareness. Here NoDak is seeking attention again by making objectively absurd and baseless claims. I think that, at least for the most part, he genuinely believes in the claims, especially given how defensive he gets about them. He exhibits a real conspiracy-theorist mindset, where he's skeptical of everything that he shouldn't be and nothing that he should. Any piece of news can be warped in his mind and interpreted to confirm his beliefs. But his arrogant certainty about his predictions, despite the details constantly changing, the criticism by virtually everyone, and having been (quite publicly*) proven wrong on multiple occasions, is what makes him so amusing. Why I think he may be at least in small part self-aware is that he espouses these sorts of claims over and over in multiple forums, suggesting that he believes if he says something loudly and often enough, it will become true no matter how crazy it is.

* By his own hand, mind you.

The PowerPoint alone tells you how serious they were and how well thought-out the plan was. It's not just anyone who can make one of those.

But it was also told, by the commissioner, that it is purely for FCS football, not FBS....

The FBS ideology ain't happening...
