Earlier this year, the ASUN decided that wanted to have 20 teams and split, with one fb conference. Made a PowerPoint presentation and everything. The ASUn backed out of it when the MEAC started losing the teams.

It's obvious which poster has deficient info.
But it was also told, by the commissioner, that it is purely for FCS football, not FBS....

The FBS ideology ain't happening...

Remember you having list of D2 teams that the ASUN could get for football. As if that would gain the ASun money. awareness, and as if he'd tell everyone his plan.

The track record is that there is a deficiecy in there somewhere (could be a deficiecy of Vitamin "N"), so it does become a bit of an Easter Egg hunt to track down which deficiecy is the most egregious.

No, I had a list of current FCS schools and 1 D2 school that was possibly being considered for the UAC.

He said, without a stutter, on the videos he put out, "FCS FOOTBALL".... he also used the phrase "TIGHT GEOGRAPHIC FOOTPRINT" two FACTS your THEORY seems to exclude.

It's funny how some can listen to a statement and only pull out 1 thing out of 20 and make a conclusion by totally disregarding the other 19....

RE: What the MEAC is up to
Isn't the MEAC looking for non HBCU colleges in D2? I'd honestly believe they would be looking for a autobid back to the FCS playoffs then forming anything new. At worse the MEAC rebrands as a non HBCU conference. Maybe just have the SWAC champion play the best non SWAC HBCU in the celebration bowl? (Best HBCU not making the FCS playoffs) if people want have a option of playing the best D2 HBCU 1 every 5 years or something.(just a random thought)

RE: What the MEAC is up to
The MEAC would have Morgan St. UM- ES, Coppin St, Norfolk St , and UNCCentral, needing two more schools at least DI.

FCS could be independent Norfolk St and UNCC.

They have an FCS autobid now, if they want to use it, they've got six Football schools.

To bad the SWAC and the MEAC can't use the CCG to have the MEAC champion play the lower ranked of the two SWAC division champions with the higher ranked and the CCG winner playing in the Celebration Bowl.

Then he moved the goalposts, saying some schools would sit on the news until the NCAA June 30 deadline.

Made a bet with a moderator that knows next to nothing about the rules and he declined.

Hampton is the only MEAC member officially gone. Decisions can be made in advance. Hampton had the most incentive as they still need more seat fors FBS am so they have ODU as a neighbor.

When the ASUN division finishes their FBS transition, the NCAA probably records this new conference is FBS or the NCAA will be declared racist.

More likely to see Norfolk St. getting the move, since they already have the stadium.

RE: What the MEAC is up to
(06-29-2020 06:08 PM)NoDak Wrote:  The ASUN being blocked from forming a new league had all kinds of
repercussions in the region. The ASUN lost its factor in determining who new FBS teams will be but will still have vast influence.

Some MEAC schools will now get their chance, mainly Howard,.Hampton, NC AT, and FAMU.

The ASUN has rights over a division of the Big South Football league. It will add Tenn- Chatty and Jacksonville St. It will.also add JMU, Delaware, and Stony Brooke. It will have the right to NC AT, Howard, and Hampton. SC St will probably have their rights owned the the Big South.

So the initial class of FBS ASUn would be Jacksonville St, UTC, Kennesaw St, Hampton, NC AT, Howard, Delaware, JMU, Stony Brooke. Liberty waiting in the wings with Famu and more could be added like EKU, Albany, UNH etc.

Later, UNA, UNF, FGCU would get their chance in FBS if they wanted it.

Couple things:
1. The ASUN does not want to have a FBS conference. They want an FCS conference. They are trying to put together continuance using some Big South football schools to form their own FCS conference in the future.
2. The ASUN wants this league to be a Southern region focused, bus travel league.
3. Why would these schools trade the convenience and cost savings of bus travel for a league that stretches up and down the East Coast from New York/New Hampshire to Florida?
4. Hampton, NC A&T, and FAMU are all moving to new conferences; why would they exit these conferences and move to this startup?
5. Liberty seems to be enjoying their FBS Independence. Why would they move down to FCS for this conference?
6. Let's say for the sake of argument, that the ASUN is starting an FCS conference to eventually move the conference as a whole to the FBS level. Why would the P5 and G5 conferences agree to share their pie with another conference? And even if they did or the ASUN sued to get in, how many years in the future would that be? Would that timeline be acceptable for schools that are looking for a sooner move up?
7. It is spelled "Stony Brook" not "Stony Brooke." Stony Brook is a State University in NY; Stony Brooke was my buddy's ex gf in college that was always high.
8. What is the criteria of schools looking to move up? Some of these schools don't have the infrastructure, the on field success, the fan/administration support, the budget capabilities, or any combination of the aforementioned to support a move to FBS from FCS. Two of the schools you mentioned don't even have football, and I don't believe they are interested in adding it.

No, NoDak made the bet with squishy terms and JohnBragg proposed an alternate version that more concretely defined the terms of the bet, to which NoDak did not respond further.

My biggest mistake was stating in 2118 that the Big Sky would announce publicly that is was going to split. It only had to privAtely announce to the other schools.

But the soon the t o be Presidents have all approved massive checks for FBS facilities that this board has ignored but those are ignored by this board. The Big Sky has purpursely misguided the public because they don't want their plans going public, at least to dumbasses.

I will make a bet with johnbragg, if their isn't two new FBS conferences planned by this May 30th. I will resign from this board. If there is, you will resign as a moderator.

First instinct is, sure, fine, whatever. But Nerdlinger is right--there has to be some public announcement of an FBS plan. Not some secret plan that only NoDak knows about, because the "Big Sky doesn't want their plans going public". SMDH.

The A-Sun has announced a "plan" to do--something with their "United Athletic Conference". I don't think that qualifies, but I'm sure NoDak does.

So let's cut to the heart of the matter. When will Montana announce a move to a conference that does not include Southern Utah? (Or is SUU going to be FBS too, why not?) That's the bet. NoDak can pick the timeframe.

RE: What the MEAC is up to
I looked into NoobDak's mind and discovered he has been secretly brainwashing Dr. Thompson. The MEAC will resurface as an FBS conference with North Dakota, North Dakota State, Montana, Montana State, Idaho, Missouri State, Lamar, Howard and New Mexico State as full members. Cal State Los Angeles and Chicago State will be Basketball members. A strong emphasis on reducing travel costs as you can see. Football will use the WAC exception.
