I can only speak for Southern California, but the golf courses have been busier than ever. With Covid-19, you can't travel anywhere, but you can play golf. I am glad to see the USGA deal move back to NBC. I just did not feel that Fox was doing a good job with the coverage and Comcast has the Golf Channel. They just seem like they are better at covering golf.

I haven't seen what the golf ratings have been since the PGA Tour returned, but I think there has been some interest in it because it's one of the few sports going on??

In any case, Fox was always a horrible fit for golf, with terrible announcers who didn't normally do golf telecasts much. With the US Open now taking place in September, I can't imagine Fox was eager to break into its football schedule for golf coverage, so moving to NBC makes sense.

I don't think this is a terrible blow for golf to be honest, but just something that makes more sense.

Golf has got to do a better job of promoting their stars. Right now people will only watch if Tiger or Phil is in contention and that's not good given their health (Tiger) and age (Phil).

I suspect it has more to do with scheduling conflicts due to the events being postponed. College FB > Golf any day. It is all about the ratings and associated revenue.

wonder if Fox asked for just this year and USGA said no but if you wanted to do all 7 that's ok- and Fox said yes.

As I mentioned on another forum, the moment the NFL scheduled a Redskins-Cardinals game for the time Fox would've used for the final holes it became untenable for Fox to air the US Open at all on the final Sunday.
