Reading the headlines, I was equally as ticked off at Trump for sharing a video that showed someone yelling 'white power'. Then I watched the whole video. Context really doesn't matter anymore does it? He's still an idiot for ever sharing something of someone ever using that phrase, but here's what I expected, vs. what I saw:

Headline - Trump thanked 'great people' shown in Twitter video in which a man chants 'white power'.

Expectation:
Large group of people at some rally. Some idiot racist POS is at said rally and pumps a fist chanting 'white power'.

Reality:
Trump supporting 'Villagers' drive golf carts in parade in support of Donald Trump. Protestors of parade (including one white-savior figure wearing a BLM shirt) shouts all kinds of fun things from feet away at the parade participants, including, but not limited to :
- RACIST, RACIST, RACIST
- Where's your white hood?
- F&@K TRUMP....next cart, lean in and F&@K TRUMP....next cart, lean in and F&@K TRUMP...
- Get back in your cart A$$HOLE....OFFICER, OFFICER....(Proceeds to briefly block cart in parade)

Now, after watching the full video (which seems more like a haphazard collection of B-Roll from the whole event, and not necessarily in any linear order), I have 2 options on what to glean from what happened:

A - There's a racist Trump supporter that truly believes in the idea of white supremacy, and decided this would be the place to share that view with the rest of the world.

B - Protestors where there trying to rile up these Trump supporters and goad them into yelling matches/fights/etc. After a protestor yells at one gentleman, asking after his white hood and chanting "RACIST, RACIST", he responds with "Yeah you got it...."WHITE POWER, WHITE POWER". This to me, sounds like he's employing a literary device known as 'facetiousness', in which an individual treats a serious matter with deliberately inappropriate humor.

So, deciding who is more sane from that video, I can choose a group whose most inciting comments included "nasty language", "4 more years" and an obviously facetious "white power" comment, or the "peaceful protestors".

This is the kind of thing that edges me closer and closer to actually voting for Trump in Nov (when I didn't in 2016). Can't stand the guy, but the complete lack of truth coming from the other side has my at my wits' end.

I thought the video was kinda shocking in regard to it happening in the Villages. Its the largest Senior living +55 complex in the world with over 60k homes and over 100K residents. I remember driving by it going to Orlando. Its immense in size and you have to drive a golf cart to get around. I remember seeing several golf cart repair shops close by to service this dynamic.
The Villages is also known in public health circles for having one of the highest rates of STDs in the USA...LOL

Yep, I noticed based on the article in OP it was 'instigated.' Was it the right response to being instigated & instigated makes it okay? Nope, but when you get called lies & cussed at, many times you fight back w/ lies & curses of your own. The OP's article specifically hi-lighted the 'white trash' comments.

If the anti-Trump protestors were all whites, I can understand why someone discouraged would say 'white power' as an attempt to tell the anti-trumper's be proud of who you are & you don't have to apologize for it or be ashamed of something you didn't do.

No, context doesn't matter. The media has their narrative (BLM supporters all reincarnations of Gandhi, whites are all closet Nazis wanting to load any minorities and non-straights into concentration camps until proven otherwise) and they will cherry pick every single clip and piece of data they can find to support this narrative. Some of it's cynical and in the pursuit of profit, sure, but most of it's ideological on their part. People that rely on the MSM rather than personal research on matters like this will swallow it down and view any work done by researchers (including prosecutors) as racism.

These are the fruits of postmodernism, where everyone gets to "live their truth." If perception is truth, and the industry that's supposed to be dispensing truth to keep us informed instead follows a business model that encourages anger, hate, and division in the name of getting people hooked, then that's a recipe for disaster. People like to laugh about Rwanda entering a civil war in 1994 due to radio broadcasts, but the truth is none of us are that far away. It just takes a more sophisticated brand of propaganda to push us to that point.
