RE: Football seasons being canceled
I hope USA could keep UAB or Southern Miss for this year instead of the FCS... Who(Sunbelt or CUSA) wants to be our home opener in our new stadium?

I think of our governor more of Aunt Bea, but the point is correct...

Maybe if we go to a conference only +1 model we could help an independent school out like Liberty, NMSU or UMass because they will be impacted the most by all of this conference only scheduling.

If you agree to play one ooc that opens up having to pay buyouts for the rest. If you restrict it to conference only you can play the act of god clause

The most recent thing we've heard is that the Act of God Clause's will only come into play if no games are played. It's hard to rationally argue that its far safer for South Alabama to play Arkansas State than it is UAB.

Patriot League has shut it down for fall sports and winter sports decision will come later. The Naval Academy and West Point are exempt from this decision.

NFL looking to test a face shield for players to help prevent the spread. Colleges could use this as well.

These leagues (excluding Ivy) that are already cancelling have poor leadership. It's the beginning of July. There is still time to make a better-informed decision, and to see what new innovations or treatments may develop in the next couple of months.

Even if any treatments come out that would help wouldn't be ready in time for mass consumption. We all just need to come to terms with their likely not being any football this year. I can guarantee you all the P5 conferences are working with that assumption, but not wanting to say so publicly yet. We shut down sports in March when numbers weren't even close to the levels that we see now. I don't see anything changing the trajectory we are currently on.

An article none of us want to read, but all of us expect to be reality.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/time-to-fac...34809.html

Essentially, there’s no chance at football, the powers know it just not wanting to say it. Looks like we are 13 months away from football. 03-weeping

I’m still gonna live in the land of hope and dreams and wait it out, what the hell us we gonna do???

I think we won't even see the NFL at this point. I just don't see how they will pull it off with how things stand at the moment. I don't think anyone wants to end up being the person in charge if/when one of these athletes get sick and dies. It is hard to come back from that. I'm already bracing for bad news to come from the college campuses that end up opening for the fall. There's no way those kids are going to do what needs to be done to stay healthy.

This is the LHSAA plan for sports this fall. They believe they will get football in, just with a late start.

RE: Football seasons being canceled
The NJCAA has decided to move football, and all fall sports to the spring. That’s the Junior College version of the NCAA. They will have practice and three scrimmages against outside competition this fall with a seven game schedule in the spring.

They are the first to not only announce changing to the spring, but also had a schedule and a plan.

https://www.ketv.com/article/njcaa-movin.../33304090#

This could be what we eventually see from the NCAA, if they’d ever get their head out of their ass.

What do you want him to say, “We are waiting to see what everyone else is doing”??? Because that is what most of them are doing. I would expect an announcement 3 minutes after the SEC makes their announcement.

"We're still surveying the landscape and nothing is off the table," would be alright.
