I would assume he has enough film to get a UDFA invite from teams....with all the players opting out and season up in the air makes not playing this season not a total disaster for him.

Except some of the questions scouts ask are regarding academics and how the prospect was when it came to taking care of business academically. They aren’t looking for academic scholars, but they are looking to see their work ethic off the field.

yea if they were drafting him and guarenteed money was involved, but I don't think he'll have a hard time getting an invite.

Except there is an article out there indicating he isn’t on the team, teams will want to know why.
oh they will definitely know he didn't play and why he didn't but I'm thinking as long as it's not criminal or drug related he will get a invite just my opinion

We will just have to disagree on this, but I also don’t see Garner as a NFL player
Garner had a steep uphill battle to even get invited to camp. He might have if he had a good year. Now, sitting out a year, it would be very surprising if it happened. This isn't a 5 star Bama prospect that teams are going to keep an eye on. He made things a lot worse on himself. He's will be lucky to get an NFL tryout; he better pray to get some type of XFL invite.
Getting a degree isn't required for the NFL, I would guess that half the league players don't have degrees. I agree before a team sign a player, they do a pretty intense background check, social, teachers, coaches, ects. The rookie minicamp tryout that Garner hopefully can get, will be his best chance. Hope he gets a chance and it works out.
The truth college athletics can get all the help they need and probably have a higher success rate of graduating than the avg student population.
How does the cancellation of the season effect this situation? Could he go back to school, meet requirements, and be reinstated next season (or whenever this season is played)?

He redshirted his freshman year in 2016, so if he misses this year, in normal times he would be done. However with the season gone this semester, it seems to me that if he stays in school and gets his grades in shape, he conceivably could be eligible to play either this spring or next fall, whenever we get football back. Interesting question. It would be great for him and the Monarchs if it worked out that way.

No, the NCAA eligibility issue will still apply. He would need a waiver and I’ve heard that there had been issues with him and his coach.
