Maybe the ACC will be better than expected this season.

If nothing else they should be able to rush the passer.

Pitt should be in play for the Coastal. With Whipple at OC in his second year, Pitt will be dangerous.

I'm not sure about Miami's coaching situation, and I think UVA lost too much from last year's team, but I definitely see a 3-way race in the Coastal: VT, Pitt and UNC.

TBH I expect Pitt to take a huge step forward this year, and they are my favorite to win the Coastal. This will be the first year since 2014 that they've have continuity at both coordinator position.

VT has to play at Pitt, which has been a tough road trip for the Hokies. That said, VT better do whatever they're going to do this year, because the roster will start to drop off next year...

Pitt’s success or failure will depend largely on it’s ability to run the football. That was definitely their primary problem last year and it was GLARING and ongoing. They simply couldn’t block anyone.

If they can improve in that area this year, they’ll have a chance to be pretty good. If they struggle in that area like they did last year, they could have a fairly difficult time.

I can’t imagine them winning fewer than six games or winning more than nine games.

That should be alleviated some with so much returning, especially all five OL starters and the two Davis kids at RB.

Yeah, that’s the hope. We shall see though because that unit was just so bad last year that I’m worried about how much they can improve in a single year.

I mean that really was the worst OL in the ACC, at least from a run blocking perspective.

As for the backs, AJ Davis was the starter last year and he’s okay, but I think Vincent Davis is a lot more talented pure runner. V Davis is cat quick with excellent vision. His problem is that he is tiny and has trouble standing in there in pass pro.

The guy who has people excited is Israel Abanikanda - a true freshman out of NYC. He has decent size and he is VERY fast and I’m told he was fairly dominant in the spring pre-COVID-19. I know a few people very close to that program and his name comes up often. They think they might have something special there. They’re just not sure if it will happen quite yet — especially with the time lost due to the Coronavirus.

There are about 6 million fans in Upstate NY who would disagree with you. But if you want to claim the worst Oline in the ACC, we wont argue with you. Lol.
