Tennessee State University (TSU of the Ohio Valley Conference) just had a game vs Southern scheduled for 9/5/20 (date of the SJSU game) cancelled. The game was scheduled to be played in Detroit.

TSU should be available and was already planning to travel to Detroit on 9/5/20.

Thanks, Nash. I don't care if it's TSU, NMU, Grand Valley, Saginaw Valley, or Northwood, just get it done and notify fans!

Did I miss something? That game hasn’t actually been canceled at this point.

Technically, you're correct, but it's not looking very promising with second and third wave incidents with covid-19. Initially, the Cal State System announced no football if no classes. That has not changed.

Hopefully he has a back up game planned, but have to imagine we'd be on the hook for some type of payout if we tried to back out of the game now.

Apparently, the SJSU AD thinks that football will be played this Fall, in effect, superseding what the Cal State System president has stated, "no on campus classes, no football." Gutsy call by the AD, but could cost him/her their job.

I dont think any football will be played until a few treatment or vaccine out. Virus is spreading like wildfire down south and look how many teams have cases now.

Unfortunately... I agree.

I just don't see how its going to work. As soon as one player or one coach or anyone associated with the team gets it, they will have to quarantine not only that person, but anyone who that person came in contact with for X number of days. Its going to be a logistical nightmare trying to reschedule or cancel games due to a team not being able to participate in a planned game. There are just too many moving parts in a major sporting event for these types of games that any breakdown in the planned schedule will cause a cascading effect.
