This is an easy choice:
Washington Pigskins
"Go Skins"

They could bring back the "Hogs," too.

I chuckled at first, but I think this is way more viable than at first glance. So considering that...it’s got no chance.

Washington Post to publish a bombshell article on the Redskins tomorrow.
???????????????
Blowing up the franchise may be the best option for improvement.

Feinstein had a piece today, but I wouldn't call it a bombshell. Nasty stuff, but nothing new.

ESPN and other sources report this morning that the WAPO negative article on the Redskins will drop today.
Sure wish they could get an owner that I could admire and support.
I'd rather keep the name and eject the owner.

DSL, Maybe the NFL is going to buy him out. That would be an ideal scenario IMO.

I think it has to be two syllables to match the "Hail to the [Insert Name Here]" fight song.
I propose "Dish Soap." The merchandising opportunities speak for themselves.
P.S. -- Has that old college on the Peninsula gotten William of Orange out if its name yet?

My sources are telling me the story is being held back, while the Post story sources are all being thoroughly vetted. The Redskins hiring of Beth Wilkinson was a warning shot to news outlets to be darn sure of their info and not to speculate and also to give Redskins employees a chance to talk with someone who they could feel protected by in the future. The story could drop tomorrow or it could be held until the Sunday edition.
Should be interesting. As someone said, you don't hire Beth Wilkinson for a parking ticket.

My thought yesterday that announcing at the end of a week would be unusual rather than waiting for Sunday.

If they are trying for a quiet release, it'll be Friday at 4:30-5PM.

RE: Tribe & Current Affairs
Email that went out from the Assistant Dean of Admissions today to a list of who I believe were all student volunteers that work in the office, contained the following passage:
"In addition, in an effort to be a more inclusive and respectful group, I am requesting the Tribe Ambassadors officially rebrand/rename. The Admission staff was brainstorming and we liked “Griffin Ambassadors” or “Griffin Groupies” (for all you alliteration fans out there…). Our intent is to move away from the “Tribe” wording as it is not respectful to indigenous communities and their cultures. Please let me know which one you prefer or if you have another idea for our new name."
While I respect the President's decision to form a committee to look at the naming of buildings and presence of statues/monuments, I must have missed the formation by the President of a group who have objectively determined that use of the name "Tribe" by W&M is disrespectful to indigenous communities. This email makes me wonder if that decision has been made behind closed doors. I hope not.

Yikes, looks like I and many others here may have to change our handles.
Probably best to stay away from any of the Founding Fathers or any W&M alums pre-1970.
Is “George Soros” already taken?

I'm sure the change is coming. My only question is whether Griffin is plural like deer or whether we are the Griffins.
