Pardon my take on twitch tv is playing another season as Toledo with winning a national title in mind.

The video game is NCAA 14 football on XBOX360 set to Heisman difficulty.

The page is barstool sports. Barstool Big Cat is the guy playing the dynasty. He brought coach Duggs into the NCAA landscape leading Toledo to a MAC title, then left for Tennessee. The Vols won the natty title, but he went back to UT to win as a mid major.

Toledo is 7-0 and #2 in the country at the moment. They had to play @USC, Florida, ND, and still have @Tennessee on the docket tomorrow OOC.

Barstool even has merch for UT right now! The actual mayor of Toledo will give bigCat a key to the city if he can achieve a national title.

I guess I'm unsure why this is drawing any attention. Winning Akron a national championship on the NCAA game was a random Tuesday night for me in college. Where is my key to the city?

It's attention because the channel is famous for other random college crap, and people watch it. They sell merch and bring publicity... Toledo is leaning into it.

Barstool Sports is a very popular sports news outlet (millions of followers). Unique in its own way, not for everyone, but you can't deny its powerful influence on social media. Our mayor received over 7,000 likes on his tweet offering a key to the city of Toledo if the main guy at Barstool Sports wins a national championship with Toledo on the video game. He usually gets about 20 likes per tweet. So point being, a hell of lot of eyes are focused on the Toledo Rockets and the MAC as a whole right now, video game or not. Just a trending phenomenon to pass the time with no real sports.

Got it done! Knocked off Texas in the Natty. 55,000 viewers at one point during the final game. Better than some MACtion ESPNU numbers I'd bet.
