Could you imagine if Americans only had two television stations?

The sad thing Esayem is that when you look at corporate contributions you find that many in each party are backed by the same corporations so we really don't have a 2 party system either.

An old governor I knew told me way back in the 70's that the two party system was like the Kentucky Derby only having two horses entered for the race, but both owned by the same stable, and that stable could be called corporate business as usual.

And to Bullet, I grew up with 2 good channels on TV as well. We were excited when a third one would come in on a weather day due to the skip in signal off of the low clouds. And it was all in Black and White. But like Crocodile Dundee today when I turn it on I see the same stuff. Heck Petticoat Junction was on the other night along with Rat Patrol, 12 o'clock High, and Combat. Victory at Sea sometimes lulls me to sleep late at night and World at War is always on somewhere, and that's on channels that actually show something beside infomercials. If it's movies my wife and I say them long ago.

As to this thread BLM has dubious backing and an alien agenda. George Floyd is a good cause as that was the most egregious abuse I've ever witnessed. Falwell is a a jerk, and that isn't part of a Christian's conduct, Freeze is a dubious choice for a Head Coach at Liberty, and who can know the true motives of 18-20 year olds.

But hash it out where you are freer to cut loose without being in violation!

I'm moving this to the Spin Room boards because it is way too political for the CS/CR room.

And for all that time, that excuse has been a crock. It's a lot easier to convince yourself that you are just anti-communist than to admit that you are just prejudiced.

In all my 75 years, I can honestly say I have never heard anyone describe himself as being a bigot. Bigots truly believe they are good people. It must be hard for them to accept that, on this issue, it is the "marxists" who hold the moral high ground.

I’m only describing them as they have described themselves.

You just proved Kens point. If you think this is all about "Marxism" you're an idiot. Also why not just reject the communism part which no one has actually talked about at all in any major way and support the anti racist parts? Why outright reject them all is it because you might be the person Ken was describing? Probably.

If you can’t deal with the fact that they have a different world view than you then you probably shouldn’t have gone to the school in the first place.

The irony being that the African-American community is very socially conservative and religious by-and-large. If the conservatives could get ahold of their racism, they could win over a lot of A-A voters. I'm sure these kids signed with Liberty to be in the religious atmosphere, but obviously the disrespect for the lives of fellow Christians by many on the right seems to be a bit too much for these players to bear.

Explain how is exactly you are equating [white] conservatives with racism?

By in large, your average American conservative is defined by these ideas:

Small Government/Low Taxes

How are any of these things racist?

hahahaha

Small Government/Low Taxes (when democrats are in power)
Pro-life (except in wars, covid, police killing people, stand your ground etc)
Pro-family values (except those who you vote for and against gay families)
Pro-2nd amendment (except for black and brown people)
Against expensive social programs that have been failures for decades (Not failures but sure)
Anti-illegal immigration (Anti-brown people immigration)
Loves their country (Wraps self in flag to undo all the things in the constitution)

Yup. Does that make it racist because Reagan was a Republican?

No it makes it racist because it was overtly targeting blacks. Reagan may not have been racist because he was a Republican but he was most certainly racist.

Got neg repped for this one so in case you didn't know that Reagan was a racist, thanks to Richard Nixon's fastidious record keeping there's audio of Reagan calling an African a monkey and saying they're still not comfortable wearing shoes. Nixon laughs so he's a racist as well. Sorry.

Lyndon Johnson and Harry Truman uttered racial slurs as well, so they were definitely racist.

In fact, the Democratic party has a rich history of racism and was pro-segregation for years. I think they should be put out to pasture just like the Confederacy.

You mean southern dems who are now republicans? Gonna spew some BS how republicans are the party of lincoln and MLK and the Dems are the party of the KKK?

RE: Liberty?
I support Liberty University and I support Jerry Falwell Jr.'s comment about Governor Northam. Nothing untruthful about commenting on photo for which Northam originally took responsibility and later backtracked.

If these young athletes, or any student, expects Liberty University to support riots, mayhem, random violence, destruction of monuments, and a Marxist ideology, even if the goal is honorable, then they clearly did not fully understand what the university is about. One may choose to agree with the principles of Liberty or not, but I respect the fact that the University is willing to stand behind those principles even at the time when most inconvenient to do so.
