A Friendly Reminder About The Conference Format
No more divisions; it's a free for all. Looking at the schedules for the top 6, we are going to have the toughest time. We almost have to hope that Houston is pretty good so they can knock off at least one of our competitors.

MEMPHIS
H: UCF, Houston
A: SMU, Navy, Cincinnati

UCF
H: Cincinnati
A: Memphis, Houston
DNP: Navy, SMU

CINCINNATI
H: Memphis, Houston
A: SMU, UCF
DNP: Navy

NAVY
H: Houston, Memphis
A: SMU
DNP: UCF, Cincinnati

SMU
H: Memphis, Cincinnati, Navy, Houston
DNP: UCF

HOUSTON
H: UCF
A: Memphis, Navy, Cincinnati, SMU

Navy, UCF and then SMU have the easiest schedules. We have the toughest one.

UCF will be circling our game as the most important. IF they can beat us on the road, they will have the advantage. Cincinnati will be circling their road game against UCF. IF they get by them, they will have the advantage. Same with Navy and their home game against us.

A lot can change, but I would have to think that Cincinnati at UCF is going to determine one of the participants in the championship game and is probably the conference game of the year. The winner has a good shot at having only 1 loss. IF Navy beats us, they have a shot at going undefeated in conference.

It will be tough for us and I think we can do it, but our conference SOS is off the charts. I don't want to use the P word, but if we go undefeated, our schedule will be much tougher than Clemson's or anyone in the PAC12.

If you project us, UCF and Cincinnati as being better than the next 3, it is very even.

MEMPHIS
H: UCF
A: Cincinnati

UCF
H: Cincinnati
A: Memphis

Cincinnati
H: Memphis
A: UCF

Navy is going to go 4-8 this year (if we have a season).

Top 25 teams find a way to win. Right now that is us. I trust we will be successful.

Nice. Thanks!

I think we'll compete despite having a bullseye on our back. Everyone will play up to beat defending champs with most players returning.

Can we say fuzzy fruit? Cause I like fuzzy fruit and I hope we can get some of that!

I could definitely see the home team winning the games between us, UCF and Cincinnati. With a 3 way tie it would be interesting. Our conference SOS will be higher but UCF might have a good win against UNC.

Our strength of schedule will be high because of our games in conference. The AAC IS P5.

If the media wasn't so biased, maybe. But with the conference bias & weak OOC schedule, our SOS will likely be 80-100+ (reg season). Our regular season SOS last season was 63, with the AAC championship game & playing PSU, it woundup at 43 or 48, don't recall exactly.

Thanks for the breakdown.

I won't lock into a record prediction, but losing Perry will be a really big loss for them. Probably enough to take Navy out of being a concern.

Probably right but we seems to have an awful time with the Navy option game, regardless of who's their QB. And playing at Annapolis late in the season is scary anytime.

That is true. Maybe we'll have even better defense and no rain. 03-lol

The other 3 conference games are Temple, SoFla, and Tulane (none of them weak sisters). This year's schedule with @Purdue instead of (H)oleMz and beefing up with ArkSt should be considered a lot better than last years. Run the table and NY6 is the least we can hope for. Don't forget we got NY6 with a loss at Temple last year!

Wait for the preseason polls & SOS. Then we'll see how big the hill is we have to climb. And BTW, Temple finished at 75 SOS, USF @ 78, AR St @ 101. Don't see much SOS help there

IF there is no OOC schedule, our SOS will be better than the ACC's and possibly the PAC12, especially without UConn as an anchor. If we go undefeated we will play good teams every week. Nobody else in the conference plays all of the good teams.

Also, our schedule is front loaded, so if we do win out, we are going to get credit for nice wins against the best teams in the conference every week for the first 5 weeks.

RE: A Friendly Reminder About The Conference Format
Since we play UCF it is going to boil down to if we can win that game.

We didn't have to worry about that last year because someone took care of that for us.

Assuming we don't slip up on a Temple/SMU type game, Cincy at Cincinnati & UCF at home are the likely games to determine the conference champion. But football is the type game that's anyone can win on a given day.

Some of you are sleeping on Tulane and SMU.

This league has depth.

Only major concern this year, other than not even playing, would be us having our 3rd DC in 3 years.

If we lose to Tulane we don't deserve to even sniff the access slot.

SMU @ SMU could be tough but I think if we are a top 25 team we should be able to win that game as well
