RE: AGG draft
It's a shame for him to be in a historically strong receiver class. He should be a day 2 draft pick but will likely fall into the 4th or 5th round. Jesse Lemonier has a chance to be drafted as well. I expect Calvert to be undrafted.

I'm a Cowboys fan and one "tell" they have shown over the years is that their 1st round pick (or first pick if not in the 1st round) is almost exclusively a player they invited to their offices as part of the 30 player list each team can make. Not all of their draftees are from the list but usually over half and especially the first. I'll be on the lookout for AGG to see if he's someone they show interest in though they would be looking for more of a slot receiver unless Amari Cooper would not be brought back for whatever reason (though remote).

RE: AGG draft
Hoping he is selected by the Bengals or Redskins, my two favorite teams.
Hoping he isn’t selected by those teams because they suck.

RE: AGG draft
Mel Kiper said he doesn’t think he’ll slip past the 3rd. ASOR reported.

RE: AGG draft
Maybe he can bring some class to the Redskins. Who am I kidding? Hopefully he thrives despite the organizational dysfunction.

RE: AGG draft
Undrafted Free Agent Contracts:
- Jessie Lemonier
- Solomon Ajayi
- Bejour Wilson
- Elijah Benton

That’s five total. Has LU had that many ever?

I'm guessing no. I don't know the LU UFA history. ASOR listed LU's draft history prior to 2020...

1985 – WR Fred Banks taken in the 8th round by the Cleveland Browns
1986 – WR Kelvin Edwards taken in the 4th round by the New Orleans Saints
1989 – DB Richard Shelton taken in the 10th round by the Denver Broncos
1990 – TE Eric Green taken in the 1st round by the Pittsburgh Steelers
1990 – DB Donald Smith taken in the 10th round by the Minnesota Vikings
2009 – RB Rashad Jennings taken in the 7th round by the Jacksonville Jaguars
2014 – DB Walt Aikens taken in the 4th round by the Miami Dolphins

RE: AGG draft
I know things are different now and we should expect this more often as FBS members. But this many out of the gate is a great sign. I think it does volumes positively for our football program. Maybe the NFL will see not only the athletic potential in our men, but also their outstanding (assumed) character, that will benefit NFL teams and their communities. It certainly will help when we bring in receuits and show them you have a chance in the NFL playing for Liberty.

Freeze had very little to do with AGG and didn't get Calvert or anyone else drafted. We'll see how he does in the future with (hopefully) more time to mold his players and get his recruits through the program, assuming he doesn't leave first. It was great to see AGG get drafted and we should expect more in the future but I don't see our program being advanced enough to expect draft picks annually or for this year's success to significantly affect recruiting.

I'm happy he's healthy! Congratulations for beating COVID-19 and for getting drafted!

Too bad this won't play well in the media after Jerry stupidly kept the school open when every other school was closed due to the pandemic. Even if LU puts out a press release saying nobody got sick, it still looks awful that they risked so many lives. I assume AGG wasn't at LU since he was training for the NFL. I feel like Jerry likes to go against the grain no matter the issue.

What exactly did LU do that others weren’t doing?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newsadv...2.amp.html

Quote:For weeks, Liberty has faced criticism for its decision to allow students to return to residence halls amid the public health crisis. As of Wednesday, 1,060 students remain on campus, down from a post-spring break peak of about 1,900. Normally, about 8,000 students live on campus.

When everyone else is closing campus and turning to online only classes, Jerry doubles down and keeps the residence halls open. Everyone got to see how LU handles a crisis and they put the students in more danger than most other schools were willing to do, or at least that's what the perception will be. Would you want you or your family to attend a school that acted business as usual for a hurricane, bomb threat, pandemic, etc.?

I live near four states, meaning within an hour of driving on an interstate, I can travel through four states. It is almost comical how when one state would make a declaration such as masks being mandatory in public, the next state would one up them by doing that and something else, which the next state would one up. They felt like they couldn't be doing less than the other states because nobody wants to appear to be doing less to keep people safe whether you think the coronavirus is a huge threat or not. Liberty took the exact opposite approach.

Also from that article is this which almost certainly refers to AGG:

Quote:On March 29, the university reported the first — and, as of Thursday, the only — case of the virus among the school’s student body. The student, who since has recovered, is enrolled in Liberty’s online program and lives off campus in Lynchburg.

At the time of the announcement, school officials said the student, a former athlete, visited a campus doctor before being diagnosed. The university now said the student consulted the campus clinic by phone and was directed to a Centra Health facility for testing.
