Exclamation Ricky Slade
Word on the street is that Ricky Slade is likely to transfer to ODU. Ricky is the former #1 all purpose back from the 2019 class (high 4 star). He didn't love up to that ranking in his first two years at PSU, but he certainly has the raw talent. I still think he would be a better slot than RB.

RE: Ricky Slade
Not a done deal yet but the fact we’re in the running is exciting. He’s the type of talent that could change a lot about our programs future.

I don’t really see how this is a mystery. The leak yesterday didn’t say he committed, it just said he was likely to commit here. This just confirms he hasn’t committed yet, which we already knew.

From what I was told, he has a few schools he’s deciding between and we have good odds.

I was just trying to be amusing. Sorry you didn't see that.

Ding Ding Ding....give this man a prize. THIS was our biggest issue last year. Hopefully they have all been hitting the weights and working hard becasue we will live and die with our O Line. The Redskin's of the 80's and 90's proved that you can have an average QB and win championships if you have an Offensive Line that can protect him. If our QB's are running for their lives and our RB's are getting hit in the backfield and expected to break tackles to gain their first two or three yards, we are screwed again.

Oh and hopefully RR lost the play script for the WR screen we have run with minimal efficiency for the last 4 years. God I hate that play, guaranteed loss of two yards

WR Screen serves a purpose even when it doesn't gain yardage. Pretty much every team that runs a spread offense, which is a ton these days, runs a lot of WR Screen, and it is rarely much of a gainer for any of them. It requires the defense to respect the fact that you might go out wide which spreads the defense out and makes other plays more effective.

I know but it drives me crazy, just like running a draw on third and long from midfield. To me you are just giving up rather than trying to make a play and be aggressive.

The draw is more a strategy of the field position battle. If you get the yards great. But if you don’t, pin em deep and try to figure out the best plan of attack while on the sidelines. Plus, you are less likely to have a negative play with a draw like a sack or an int that puts your defense in a worse spot.

Aggressive plays are necessary to win games but knowing when is also important.

Can i add that we stop running the ball from the shotgun on the opponent 1 yard line? Stupidest run play ever.

HCRR has already said we’ll never be under center.

I agree more on the draws. There is a time and a place, but our staff was out of control with the 3rd down draws.

Yep. And when we had a crappy QB, we ran more draws. We also didnt run then as much as people assume and occasionally converted 3rd downs with them. Sometime we got enough yards to try to go for it on 4th down.

This, people not realizing the difference in mesh point between shotgun/under center, and people associating bad QB play on the OL can be frustrating.

He really didn't run too many of them at PSU.

RE: Ricky Slade
FWIW, I think Slade is the kind of back you run 10-15 times and throw to 5 times. He is a really good receiver and a slasher as a RB. Not the guy that you want to run 20-plus times.

Does this make it official?

Yeah I saw that too. Don't think Kumah's Tweet makes it official by any means.

Also, Tayvion Land is leaving Liberty and a few folks are urging him to come home. Looks like he could almost have his pick of programs though based on his HS recruitment.
