Granted all schools could play the "if he returns" game but for USM it would be huge to get back any of these seniors: Walker Powell (co-#1 starter), Matthew Guidry (2B, batted 3rd, 2nd in avg, tied for team lead in HR) and/or Hunter Stanley (closer).

On a side note I did see where outfielder Hunter LeBlanc transferred about 20 minutes north of Hattiesburg to Jones Junior College. Their coach is a former USM player and then baseball ops guy. Over the last 10 years Jones JC has been in the top 10 in JuCo rankings probably every year with a couple World Series appearances as well as has been a good pipeline for USM and La Tech.

It appears that Walker Powell is returning. I don't recall seeing any announcement about it, but he is on the 2021 roster and I have seen pics of him at practice in the media.

We have a lot coming back and two highly recruited kids coming to the program soon. Not to mention a brand new stadium that has been prepped to accommodate a regional if we are ever so lucky. I think both the fans and the administration are going all in on baseball from here on out.

Doesn't LA Tech host the CUSA Baseball Tournament this spring too?

This is a great HOME and OOC baseball schedule for LA Tech. It's so good, I don't even know where to start. LOL!

Illinois (4 games), Army (2), Ole Miss (2), McNeese (3) and Arkansas (3) are all coming to Ruston for a multiple game OOC series. We'll also host Little Rock in Ruston, play a H-H against ULL, face LSU in Baton Rouge, and have a 3-game series with Tulane in New Orleans. To top it off, we play conference mate --and former national champion-- Rice 3 times in Houston, and later twice in Ruston. Wow!

Add in our other CUSA suspects --Southern Miss, Marshall, FIU, MTSU, UTSA & UAB-- and this ends up being a very good 56-game schedule.

Fantastic scheduling.
Our new stadium is being built to accommodate proper TV crews, I assume? Surely they are. Especially with the conference tournament having been planned to come to Ruston. And with all these P5 matchups, I’d think they would be aired.
