Very interesting to see how Brannen pulls guys from all over. MAW is from Syracuse, Saunders is from Indy and was in school out in Utah, the Madsens are from Minnesota, Eason Seattle, now he gets Lahkin from Russia. Will Brannen continue to recruit all over like this?

I love it. Tells me that he and his staff are turning over every stone to find the best talent. I think someone in this thread or another mentioned we might be able to carve out a space in the European recruiting sphere similar to Gonzaga. I would definitely love that. If Rapolas Ivanauskas and Lakhin are successful here, hopefully it will open up to more European prospects.

Euro bigs have been insanely successful in the NBA lately including probably the best center in the game (Jokic) who also seems to perfectly fit what we saw Brannen wanting to do with Tre Scott in terms of being a playmaking big instead of just defense. Luka Garza has torched us two seasons in a row.

The only Russian I know can not be used in polite company.

Don’t feel bad. I took 3 years of Russian at UC and I know about as much of that language as I do Navajo.

Speaking of Russian classes...

wow, and I was concerned about our inside depth next season? Great job, Coach Brannen. Another recruit that former coach Cronin would have avoided. I'm looking so forward to the 20-21 season. Go Cats.

I watched his limited minutes in U18 tournament. I was not impressed. That's not saying much because there is hardly any film and we are all really guessing at the competition. I'm hoping we get to see more soon!

The good news is we shouldn't have to depend on him next year, giving him time to develop. Vogt, Diarra, and Rap are all proven, and I think Eason will be the most polished freshman big we've had since Gary Clark.

For others who were curious like me, here are some links to his FGs against Germany in the quarterfinals(?) (wearing #30, first video I pulled up.)

1. https://youtu.be/zdZYBiRD1wg?t=1015
2. https://youtu.be/zdZYBiRD1wg?t=1167
3. https://youtu.be/zdZYBiRD1wg?t=2558
4. https://youtu.be/zdZYBiRD1wg?t=6759 (Longer sequence, turnovers and steals galore.)

Seems like he had a fairly active 17 minutes in this one: 4/7 shooting for 9 points, 10 boards, a block and 2 steals to go with 4 personal fouls and 4 turnovers.

And hey, three point form earlier in the tournament (maybe?) against Lithuania: https://youtu.be/qHaFgxCREiE?t=927

His shot looks nice, but his release is awfully slow. Would like to see him shorten his shooting motion and start with the ball at his face instead of his chest.

I'm not trying to be hyper critical but did any of that impress you? Look at the rotation on his 3 ball. His footwork is atrocious. I'm really trying to keep an open mind but this kid is #137 based on potential alone.

100% Tari is criminally underrated.
