Hey Covington.. you know anything about a kid from Brighton or maybe Covington named Dickerson we are on? I think he's a WR.

Yeah, Dalton Dickerson is a Covington wideout. He's 6'3" and has caught 6 TD's this year in Covington's run-oriented offense. On many of those receptions he has gotten behind the defense and scored from 40 to 50 yards out. He is a tall rangy kid who looks pretty fast, but I don't have any stats on his speed.

He also punts for us and is the leading punter in Shelby Metro, with a 38.1 yard average, which is pretty good for high school.

I had no idea that my Tigers were looking at Dalton. The last receiver from Covington we signed was a pretty good one, Darron White. White still shows up in the Memphis receiving stats.

Do you think we are recruiting Dickerson as a receiver or a punter?

As far as I know WR... he has also had contact with UT, AL & KY and others.

Late update - Covington newspaper says Dickerson just signed with Bethel, so apparently our coaching staff did not think he was “Tiger good”.

Yep... His Uncle told me that the other day. Not sure what happened, but he got looks from Bama, UT and other SEC schools, plus Memphis & others.
