Harrisonburg paper is reporting that JMU is going to try to work up some sort of independent schedule, as long as there's an FCS playoffs.

I’m not renewing my season tixs until July 24th. I don’t want to hand my money over just to have it refunded back several weeks later. The ACC needs to make their decision soon. We lose the UVA and Wake games and our season is forfeit.

While everyones financial situation is different, Rahne did point out the need for donations going forward. Just testing alone is a significant financial drain. If you buy tix and the season is cancelled, those tickets roll over to the next year. I consider my ticket purchase a donation.

Yeah, if we want to set up Rahne for success, we gotta keep donations up and renew those season tickets.

I'd put our chances of having any college sports at less than 5% before January.

Yep. I made my regular ODAF donation and renewed my tickets earlier this month. I figured at worst I would not have to give them any money in 2021.

Same thing happened on a river boat cruise scheduled for this December. It's been cancelled, so our air fare and tickets roll over and are good until 2022. They gave us a 25% each bonus for not asking for a refund. So, unless Viking goes belly up, we have a nice cruise paid for next year.

I’ll make the call Monday to renew the tix. My donation is already down.

ODU tested approx 600 students, coaches and admin, got 7 positives.

Its a lot better than I feared. I figured twenty something like ECU had. If the recovery time is a week or two, the whole team could be ready and confirmed healthy by the start of practice. The hard part would be keeping them that way.

Yeah, thats the problem. Imagine tying to get 110 football players in a safe bubble.

I'm curious where you see that 600 were tested. According to pilotonline.com, there were roughly 300 tested, not 600. Still, 7/300 is a pretty low percentage of positives.

Quote:Q: Have you had athletes or staff members test positive for COVID-19?

A: "As of July 15, we have tested 317 student-athletes, coaches, trainers, weight and strength coaches and administrators. All the results have been received and I've been very, very pleased with the very low number of positives tests. We've had six student-athletes and one staff member test positive. That's from 317 athletic department-related tests.

Those who have tested positive have been isolated. They are following our detailed guidelines for anyone who tests positive. The national average of positive tests is five percent and we are obviously tracking well below that."
