I've seen a couple of recent reports (SA media) on summer collegiate baseball leagues starting up around July 1st, but none of these contained rosters or any mention of who may be playing where.
Does anyone know if there is info available on where current or future Owls may be playing this summer?

Here are a couple of articles about collegiate summer leagues that have announced when they'd start playing games:
Quote:Five MiLB organizations will be fielding six teams in the Texas Collegiate League.
Four current TCL teams– the Acadiana Cane Cutters (Lafayette, LA), Brazos Valley Bombers (Bryan-College Station, TX), Texarkana (TX) Twins and Victoria (TX) Generals–will be joined by five MiLB organizations, including the Amarillo Sod Poodles (two teams), Frisco RoughRiders, Tulsa Drillers, Round Rock Express and San Antonio Missions, whose TCL team will play as the Flying Chanclas. ...
Each team will have a roster of about 30 players and play a total of 30 regular season games (15/15 home/road split) from June 30 to August 2 followed by a postseason. ...
The Texas Collegiate League joins the Northwoods League, Coastal Plain League, Expedition League, Florida Collegiate Summer League and Midwest Collegiate League in launching play this season.
The West Coast League, Prospect League, Western Canadian Baseball League, MINK League, Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, New York Collegiate Baseball League, Ohio Valley League, New England Collegiate Baseball League, Cape Cod League and the Valley Baseball League have canceled the 2020 season.
The Futures Collegiate Baseball League has announced delays to the 2020 summer-collegiate season.
Quote:A summer baseball league consisting of college and soon-to-be college athletes is started up in Meridian (Mississippi) on June 11.
The event, named the Honor the Game Wood Bat League and hosted by East Coast Sox Baseball, will take place exclusively at Q.V. Sykes Park over seven weeks. Six teams, made up of Division I players from SEC schools and other southern conferences, as well as high school seniors who have signed to play in college, will participate in regular-season games on Mondays and Thursdays ... through July 23, with a single-elimination tournament taking place that weekend. The league will use NCAA rules and guidelines.
In addition to five Mississippi State baseball players participating in the league, 63 Division I student-athletes, including 25 from the SEC, will also be competing, as well as 18 players originally slated to take part in the Cape Cod Baseball League that was canceled in April, according to East Coast Sox President Greg Sykes.
On the minor league level (Independent), the Sugar Land Skeeters recently announced they will be hosting a 4-team league where all 4 teams will be playing at the Sugar Land stadium.

Just had to look this up:
The name is in reference to the prevalence of prairie dogs in West Texas.[11] The name was meant to convey the values of sticking together, being family oriented, and self sufficient.[10]

Those references are pretty entertaining and illuminating.

The Round Rock team will be known as the Round Rock Hairy Men. They say it is a nod to a local historical legend, but I think it is because of the hipster driven beard fetish that is so entrenched in the Austin scene.
Iirc, the Austin Beard Society sports several world champion bearders, and the note that Austin is the heaviest represented city in the world for beard championship participation.
Or perhaps an homage to the growing 'unkemptness' of social distancing -- on a recent Zoom call with an alumni group I participate in, almost every male not just had facial hair, but most were rapidly approaching Grizzly Adams stage. Kind of apropos in that regard as well.

I am quite sure more than a few will be hairy men, but I have no idea if any of them will be playing in Round Rock.
There is a collegiate summer league with several owls playing out at Premier Baseball in Tomball. It’s being run by FiveToolBaseball. Go to website/events/team events and you will see a listing of leagues Austin/Dallas/Houston). Go to Houston and see the teams. If you chose a team a roster will be on the top right. Select that and you’ll see roster. Rice guys are spread out among the teams but should be able to find them and the schedules. They play on Monday and Weds evenings.
Wish there was a season to discuss. Getting withdrawals and MLB not helping either

Thanks for the info. What use to be a 10 minute drive to Premier Baseball is now a 3.5 hr drive from our new home. The Flying Chanclas are probably the closest “home team” now for me. Really miss seeing live baseball.

Not true. Some have cancelled and many are starting later.
