MyBB Pensacola Bay Center reveals new look for SBC Tourney
The new home of the men's/women's basketball tournament, the Pensacola Bay Center, has revealed what the court will look like with the redesigned SBC logos and coloring.

They're also planning on adding new HD video boards, among other improvements in time for the tournament.

Looks good, I’m excited about it being in PNS.

Well yeah since that would be a home game for y’all right? Not too far for UL either.

Anything is better than NOLA. I'd prefer campus sites, but that's just not going to happen.

I really liked this years format. Not sure about the other games but the one we hosted was electric.

It certainly has potentil to be for the better teams. I was not a big fan of the set up where the 7 and 8 seeds were hosting though. A team at that level in the SBC Simply isn't going to draw a crowd for a Tournament game.

I'd be fine with an 8 team tournament beginning with the quarterfinals, with the higher seed hosting every round. I just feel travel in the league makes any sort of tournament that squeezes 5 rounds in almost impossible to do at home sites. Coastal had to play at UTA this year and then turn around and be at App State 48 hours later, to play for the right to turn around and go back to San Marcos if they had won. That's just too much travel

I bet those games were better attended than the Sun Belt championship usually is though. That travel would suck though.

Nola would have been fine I think. Lakefront was a very poor decision and Sunday at noon really killed it.

You have to put it downtown or in the garden district if you're going to make it worth it to make the trek to NO you can't get drunk them drive 40 mins to UNO in the middle of nowhere fun

Other idea could be first round or two at higher seeds then the final four at highest remaining in a normal 8 team tournament or maybe even could go divisions and home sites and a neutral for the finals that's centrally located. The sec used to split theirs into divisions I think

I know nothing about Pensacola. What is it known for? Are there beaches nearby? Is there a cool downtown?

I go there often for work.

The answers to your questions are yes and yes.

Pensacola beach is beautiful with white sand a clear water.

Downtown Pensacola has really been revitalized in recent years.

The downtown is cool, with a lot of cool restaurants, especially along Main St. and Bayfront Pkwy.

You can also take the Pensacola Bay Bridge over the waters to Gulf Breeze where there is a lot of seafood places, and you can take another bridge that takes you to Pensacola Beach.

There's tons of stuff to do... a lot of historical sites, military museums, and family fun places such as mini-golf, go-karting, arcades, water parks, amusement parks, etc.

Pensacola gets a bad rap because Biloxi has casinos and they don't. Downtown area is pretty neat. Plenty of good food. We were there for a baseball tournament in March (Last game I broadcasted). I was impressed with Pensacola and look forward to going back.

That was my first time at that ballpark. I'd argue that it's the nicest minor league baseball stadium I've ever been too as far as amenities and aesthetics... the ocean in the background is really special.

You can even rent it out for an AirBnB now haha.

I think this is really exciting for SBC. With CUSA's tournament being forever away, I'd really like to make the weekend games for this tournament.

That is an amazing picture with the ocean in the background. Might be a neat place for the Sun Belt or C-USA baseball tourneys.

Hey, having UWF in the FunBelt isn't such a bad idea. Beautiful campus, beautiful town, beautiful beaches and the Naval Aviation Museum. The Argies could use Ladd Peebles Stadium until they get their new on campus stadium built.
