You are right...The only way we move this program further forward than we are now is by beating P5's.

But this year sure was fun making the cotton bowl...And it is much easier with that schedule.

Well... There are two steps really. The undefeated season including the Access Bowl, and then..... "The call-up".

very strange year this year - it looks like if we have a season it may only be conference games...so, if we are a high seed and win conference...

so could BYU, Army, and Air Force...those are 3 non-P5 teams I would approach for home-home series.

Certainly BYU, & maybe Boise St, & yes, Army & AF would draw better than my list above. Probably a whole list of schools would draw better. Ironically, I'd think the AD (meaning Bowen in this case) would have been concerned enough about revenue to attempt a little better than those I listed above.

Wasn’t it Fuente that didn’t like the two P5s every year and wanted Bowen to dumb down the schedule? I have no idea, but I’ve heard that several times.

Think I heard that too but it was no better during the Novell years - probably a result of Bowen attempting to get the commis job.

Yep.

I think Bowen didn't gladhand some of the crowd here and get all buddy buddy like RC did.

Although I criticize Bowen for his OOC scheduling, he actually did a nice job of getting the AD office reorganized, bring financial stability, accountability & discipline to the budget & spending process. For those accomplishments, I give him credit. His OOC scheduling not so much.

Fuente hated the P5 series. So did Norvell.

So Bowen adapted. This isn't some one-blame source.
