I'm sure the remaining 4% of NASCAR fans still left from 1995 will be up in arms.

What a non-story.

lol

--what will they do without their beloved flags to remind them of their underdog yet superior status. I almost feel bad for their loss.

In all honesty, we are not even 200 years removed from that most horrid of all wars. People will get better and less reactive as time progresses...or as they are forced to let go of the icons of their great great grandparents---

---ok, so that's my upbeat thought.

I hadn't been to an Ole Miss game in a while. Does anyone still bring Rebel flags to games.
Nascar will be just like that. Confederate flags use to mean your from the South. Other groups ( Klan, White Supremacist, Bikers, Nazis) just couldn't stop waving it. So now it's a symbol for ... other things. I'm for removing it from ANY government supported property or building. For all the obvious reasons. Same goes for statues, etc. Army posts and forts ... Yada Yada. And State flags should get rid of it as well.

National Battle Fields should be an exception as long as it's smaller and to the side of the American flag.

It's kind of a common sense issue and should really be a no problem deal. As long as the Klan carries it ... It's just a real bad idea.

That said ... This should all be done by the government (Federal,State or Local) not mobs with ropes. Always put it to a vote ... Then publish the names. Somebody just dumped a Statue of Christopher Columbus in a river somewhere ... Give me a break. Common sense people ... Jesus !!

KKK numbers are probably still strong. Organizations like that you will never see the true numbers. Also FBI have stated that they have infiltrated law enforcement.

Makes you wonder doesn't it.

Pull rope with loop to help in pulling down door has been there since at least Oct 2019.

No way of knowing who would be assigned that stall back when the loop was made in the pull down rope.

The same weekend they ban the Battle Flag, Wallace is assigned this particular stall which had a loop on the end of the pull rope used to open and close the door.

Lot of push back from the remaining fan base over not only the banning of the flag, but the allowing for kneeling during the National Anthem.

So along comes the pull rope incident to use to justify the changes.

NASCAR VP Steve O'Donnell should be questioned under oath to find out if Wallace purposely was assigned this stall in order to create a lynching uproar and try to quiet the fans unhappy over the changes.

But contrary to all the national media there was no hate crime.

The only hatred was NASCAR VP Steve O'Donnell who called fans idiots.

RE: Nascar
Between the time someone found the garage door rope and the word was sent to the commissioner and he released a statement there had to have been at the very least one person (probably a lot more) that knew exactly what it was but for some reason they stayed silent. I’m not a NASCAR fans but it’s obvious NASCAR is going to lose a lot of fans over this flap.

KKK numbers are probably still strong. Organizations like that you will never see the true numbers. Also FBI have stated that they have infiltrated law enforcement.

Estimates are around 3,000 KKK members nationwide, with largest groups around 50-100.

"Nationwide, there are still an estimated 3,000 Klan members and unaffiliated people who "identify with Klan ideology," according to the ADL. Membership, though, remains spread across dozens of groups. The largest Klans reportedly don't have more than 50 to 100 active members, and most have fewer than 25."

https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/...us-in-2017

By contrast, Memphis (the city itself) has over 10,000 gang members and gang related murders make up about 1/3rd of all murders in Memphis each year.

“They’re everywhere," said Lt. Andre Pruitt. "Gang members are not just in Memphis or Southaven or Hickory Hill. They’re in Cordova. They’re everywhere.”

"Police said there are currently 12,850 documented gang members in the city of Memphis and 2,750 of those members joined in the past three years. That averages out to more than two new people a day.

Truth is race is the only reason Wallace is now in a Cup car.

Prior to his Cup debut he had 85 starts in the Xfinity series and never won a race.

He has 89 starts at the Cup level and has never won a race.

And you get a slow handclap for missing the mark.

Missing the mark how?

Should national and local policy makers be wringing their hands on how to "deal" with a nationwide "group" that has 3,000 members with little to no influence on anything and do discernible connections to ANY deaths over the last 20 years or so or should we focus on breaking down groups that are factually selling drugs, moving weapons, and killing people on a daily basis and who names are know and participants are readily identified?

Makes sense.
