That would be awesome if we could do that with Northam, Trump, and Falwell.

Throw Herring and Fairfax into the mix, and I'm up for it.

It's slang for people rejecting or boycotting someone after they have said something wrong or done something wrong.

And in this case, 99% of the people calling out Falwell rejected him long before he made the mask remark.

The backlash at Liberty is not likely just that one instance but several of the past few years showing how Falwell is batshit crazy.

But, they have God and Money, they will be fine.

Yeah, not so much wondering why people are mad at Falwell as I am wondering why the person who did the actual deed gets off scot free.

He got a ton of backlash at the time when it came out. What would you like to see happen to him?

I would like for him to be forced to resign since that is the prescribed punishment for most people who do something that stupid, and let's be honest, he would have been if not for the fact that the LT Gov (Dem) was also embroiled in a black face scandal, and the AG (Dem) was facing rape allegations, and they would have all had to resign, leaving a Republican in charge. So yea, I would like there to be one standard that we hold our politicians to regardless of party affiliation. I am not completely signing onto the cancel culture, but I think if a politician does something that egregious they should be forced to resign by their party, and if the person does not resign then they should be completely shunned by their party like the idiot Republican from Missouri that just got primaried.

You got that reversed. LG was/is facing rape allegations, AG had the other blackface scandal.

As long as you are consistent and want any politician to resign for doing things p40 years prior, I have no arguments with that viewpoint. I don't agree with it, but I'm not going to argue it. I would bet it would be slim pickings. Both of our presidential candidates haven't add to "pay" for their sexual assaults.

It's really a sad state of affairs. We should expect better from our elected officials. There are better people out there.

Why would better people run for major office? It is a shitshow, and they will be personally destroyed for their efforts. In this climate, we will never get the best and the brightest. We are to the point that I feel like the folks on this board are smarter and would do a better job of running the country than the people we elect.

If there are, they'll either get chewed up and spit out or get corrupted by campaign financing. Politics is for ego-maniacs and grifters.

I have to draw the line at Trump and Biden, even if it doesn't feel great to do so. There needs to be proof of the misdeeds, not just allegations. If we set the bar at allegations, the entire political shitshow that we see now will just get worse. Every election the opposition party will just gin up a bunch of allegations against a candidate and we will be in an endless cycle of disqualifying politicians based on those allegations.

I mean you can see video of Biden all over youtube.

With Trump, it seems the evidence is pretty strong. "Grab her by the ...."

I see evidence of Biden being pretty weird, but I don't see evidence of anything illegal, so the voters can decide if he is too creepy. Trump said "they let you grab them by the ..." that is also not evidence of a crime, and the voters can decide if his gross behavior is too gross.

Look, I am not saying any of this crap is ideal, but this is the shitshow that we live in, and I would prefer to not make it worse by disqualifying every single person who runs for office because the opposing party was able to wrangle up a few people willing to claim that so and so did such and such. Because that is exactly what would happen if we just disqualified people over accusations by default.

If he's mad about the LU situation, perhaps the fact that ODU has the highest percentage of black students in the state outside of HBCUs will help in recruiting in here.

I noticed several of our recent committs also had offers from LU. No way to know if recent events affected their decision not to go there, but have to say it's interesting
